UNCONDITIONAL LOVE is defined as - a type of love that is given freely, without conditions or expectations, and without regard for personal benefit. WOAH. Read that again. AND AGAIN.
If you're anything like me, you've always used the term "unconditional love" to define a deep feeling of connection with another. For me, it's indefinitely what motherhood feels like for me. But, outside of motherhood, how capable are we of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE? Talk about a thought starter! ...
Let's take a deeper dive into this, as I invite you into a conversation about love and mental health from a lens that you probably (definitely) weren't expecting.
Welcome, Kellie. A mother, daughter, a sister, a wife and a licensed mental health professional in the prison system as well as the hospital emergency department for those who are mentally ill. Kellie is the epitome of humanitarian.
Listening to her speak about her passion will certainly make you think about the people in your life and in the world around you. How different our feelings are, how different our perspectives can be and how matters or the heart are never a "one size fits all".
The takeaway: the importance of LOVING and showing up for our children, while also realizing how much further we have to go, as a society, when it comes to HURT / PAIN / SELF-LOVE and MENTAL HEALTH.
The disclaimer: this is a broad stroke on the topic of mental health and in this conversation we are diving into what it means to help others who are really looking to change their lives and change their outcome.
Love you all, thanks for listening.
