Instead of our usual round up edition of our trip to Götzis we have something a little different for you this week. 

Here is an interview that we did straight after the meet with the guys from The Swiss Track Check podcast. They’re basically the Swiss Backstraight Boys and when they spotted us in the crowd, invited us on to their pod to discuss our amazing weekend in the mountains.

To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Hypo-Meeting in Götzis we’ve managed to bag some spectacular guests this week. 

Double World Champion and Olympic Silver Medalist Katarina Johnson Thompson and World and European Indoor Champ Sander Skotheim join us to chat about their experiences competing in the world’s premier multi event competition.

We’ll we heading a to the Austrian mountains as well to enjoy 2 days of action, meet some legends and most of all eat LOTS of apple cake.

Our Backstraight Girl is BACK. In her first competition since September 2023 she competed at the Loughborough International meet on Sunday and jumped very encouraging 6.53m.

Netherlands cleaned up at their home champs with 7 Golds whilst Team GB had mixed results. 

Big names like Lieke, Jakob, Sander and Ditaji shone but Jerry’s win and a resurgent Andy Robinson stole the show for British fans 🤩

After many discussion about which legend we should invite on for our Apeldoorn  2025 Euro Indoors Preview, we realised we already had one in da house !!! 

Reigning European Long Jump champ (And more importantly #1 Backstraight Girl) Jaz Sawyers is here with us, to discuss all the action at the upcoming champs. 

Bayo has been up a mountain, Jaz is recovering from the Brit Awards and Jody still hasn’t decided if he’s attending the champs, but join us whilst we get absolutely everything wrong before the action starts on Thursday.

Four time Olympic Champ Carl Lewis called it an 'April Fools joke' and double champ Militiatis Tentoglu said it was 'dog shit'  and threatened to retire from the event, but World Athletics seem determined to implement their controversial new Long Jump innovations.
