On the day after Thanksgiving 2020, Instagram influencer/businesswoman Alexis Sharkey stopped responding to texts and posting on social media. Her friends reported her missing on Saturday afternoon. Unbeknownst to them, a city worker had already found her nude body laying in some brush. Her mysterious death drew global attention, but the story's resolution is sadly all too common.

On Halloween 2009, 30-year-old Ben Gardner and 28-year-old Allana Devine went dancing at a club to celebrate Halloween and Allana's birthday.
