We're often led to believe we need to live smaller than who we really are, to fall in line, not "make waves," "ruffle feathers" and on and on. But when we try to fit in, we can sometimes sacrifice the unique beauty and purpose of why we are here. Authenticity isn't perfection. It's messy and scary and may fill us with fear, insecurity and vulnerability.
When we pay attention to the small voice inside and see who we are, we can challenge ourselves to live from love courageously. We can push through the fear to accept our feelings of vulnerability so that we can actually learn to live out loud.
On his website below one of our favorite pieces by Stephen Wilson are the words "shine a light when it's gray out," and that's just what it felt like speaking with him about life and art on a gray Sunday afternoon. Stephen is an extraordinary artist well known for his luxury upcycled embroidered pieces that push typical boundaries. Listen for the art and inspiration, stay for the incredible business savvy and no-nonsense take on growth and sustainability.

Yes, we do have some happy news to share and boy do we need it!
Let's be real, this past week has been one for the books, literally. The recent events we've experienced in this country have us reeling, and we are breaking it down to try to make sense of the insanity and move forward with compassion.
In the meantime, we're planning the perfect dinner party and hope our guests accept their invitations!
Today, we're pleased to interview our friends and local business owners Stephanie and Josh Norris of Green Brothers Juice! If you're a local Charlottean, then you are likely a member of the GBJ cult following and enjoy their smoothies and products and have probably participated in a Hilliard Studio Method x Green Brothers Reboot. And, if you've heard Liz profess her love for Passion Potion, yes, that's a Green Brothers Juice innovation as well! Stephanie and Josh are an energetic and passionate couple who has managed to grow their brand during the pandemic by opening another juice bar location with more on the horizon. Driven by making a healthy impact on our community, these two are truly Powerful.
www.greenbrothersjuice.com @greenbrothersjuiceLiz and Lee sat down and chatted via zoom with Serena Wolf for this next interview episode. Serena is a refreshingly real chef, author, instagrammer, podcast co-host and all around domestic guide extraordinaire. Serena's witty flair for story-telling and writing has garnered her quite the cult following around her wildly popular cookbooks The Dude Diet, The Dude Diet Dinnertime, and her new-to-2020 virtual cooking classes.
In this episode, you'll hear the story of how she got here with her head on her shoulders all the while managing some pretty serious anxiety. She epitomizes being unapologetically real and we know you'll love her as much as we do!

If you ever want to get free therapy, start your own podcast and do a three part series on how you got to where you are today! Thank you, Liz, for holding my (Hilliard Studio Method Director of Training Lee Kennelly) hand and helping me tell my story. I hope this podcast episode shines some light on what brings you great joy and peace, that you quit feeling stuck and feel more free, and finally, that the approval you seek is that of your own.
In today's episode of Hilliard Studio Podcast, I (HSM Founder and Owner Liz Hilliard) will be telling my personal story because I feel our stories as women are important. I hope you'll listen, reflect and if need be write or say your own story. We all have one and in the telling of our story we find our truth, our voice and our power. This is the first in a three part series where Lee and I share our stories culminating in the story of us together. I hope you'll subscribe, rate and review. My heartfelt thanks to you all❤️
