Confidence starts at such a young age. We don't put enough weight into the conversation so that as they age, they don't lose that. We are trying to catch up as adults rather than protect them when they are young. Teach them how to navigate friendships when the fck up. Friends won't always agree with you. They won't always like you. That's a hard thing to understand. We alter ourselves in order to be liked but if everybody likes you, you aren't that interesting. That's a hard thing for us to accept as adults never mind a 12 year old trying to accept that. Teach them to be their own weird self.
