Have you ever noticed what you say to yourself when you make a mistake, or when you child gets mad at you, or when your ex texts you something nasty? Do you notice that you're kind and loving and compassionate with yourself? My guess is, you're like most of us who do the exact opposite of that, and instead become our own worst enemy, flinging self criticism and judgement around until we feel horrible and believe that we're a failure in every way.
In today's episode I'm going to teach you the art of self compassion by breaking it down into the self compassion triad. By learning to be self compassionate, you'll be reprogramming your brain away from the self criticism default, to a new kinder version of you.

Bitterness toward your ex may feel justified for a little while. The problem is, when you carry the bitterness around it makes you feel bad. Feeling bitterness toward your ex isn't making him want to apologize, change or be different in some way. All it's doing is making you feel terrible.
So what can you do to drop the bitterness toward your ex? Listen in as I help Becky understand why she hasn't been able to let go of the bitterness yet and what she can change to drop the bitterness she's carrying around.

Conscious thinking is when you become aware of the thoughts that your brain is offering you on autopilot and you intentionally decide whether or not you want to continue to choose to think that way or decide to think something different. In this episode I'll be teaching you what conscious thinking is, why it's important for you to becoming a conscious thinker and how doing so will open you up to taking full control over your ultimate freedom, your inner self.

Being sick as a divorced single mom can feel stressful and overwhelming. We judge ourselves for being sick, for not being the mom we usually are, for making the kids be less structured, for needing to take a break, for not having a partner and more.
This needs to stop and I'm helping Carrie see why in today's short episode. Listen in as I help her change the narrative around being sick.

Transactional self love is when you withhold love for yourself until you meet certain requirements to be "worthy" of kindness, compassion and love for yourself. You're more likely doing this and don't even realize it.
Transactional self love can sound like, I'll think you're pretty once your hair is dyed and you look more like that person on Instagram, or I'll think you're beautiful once you can fit into a certain size, or I'll think you're accomplished and have a purpose once you graduate from school and get that amazing job. And so you withhold liking yourself, being nice to yourself, loving yourself until those certain criteria are met.
In this episode I'll be talking about transactional self love, the three reasons why we've adopted this kind of self love, why it's not only affecting our relationship with ourselves but all of the relationships in our lives and what we can do to let go of the transactional self love and instead adopt unconditional self love.

How often do you feel like you're carrying the weight of the world (yours and your kids) on your shoulders? How many times have you bit your tongue around your kids so you don't 'bad-mouth' their dad to them - only to find out that he's being trash talking you every chance he gets? How many days a week do you go to bed feeling exhausted, hopeless and powerless in your own life?
If this is happening to over and over again, then today's podcast episode will set you free. I'm answering Sheila's question about why she's constantly feeling exhausted, frustrated and powerless in her own life, and what she can do immediately to change that.

Often we tell stories from our past in a way where we continue to be the victim and feel victimized. When we do this we feel powerless to make changes in our life now and moving forward. One of the most effective ways to stop feeling like a victim of your past and of your life is to rewrite the stories of your past, and specifically your divorce story.
This exercise isn't so that you can gaslight yourself into believing that things in your past didn't happen that actually did. Instead it's to help you refocus on your past in a way that serves you and makes you the hero of your story, instead of the victim. You get to use your past any way you like. So I want you to make it good for YOU. I'll teach you how in today's episode.

Do you have someone in your life that is super critical of you, but they tell you it's because they want you to be the 'best you' you can be? Or maybe you're the one that is extremely self critical - like when you want to lose weight and you 'mess up' and eat some cookies that were off plan - do you constantly beat yourself up to try to motivate change?
Listen in to today's short Friday Flip where I answer anonymous's question about what it means when someone is constantly criticizing us and how to respond moving forward.

When someone has done something wrong or treated us badly, we want an apology. Society has taught us that an apology is how we show remorse and ask forgiveness all wrapped up in the words, I'm sorry. So it makes sense that we'd want that from the person who is to blame for our hurt.
In today's short episode, I'm helping Noemi understand where her power lies when it comes to feeling like she needs an apology. We can't make someone apologize for something but we can do something for ourselves that is much more powerful and supportive.
