The holidays can be a tough time of year for women who are divorced. I hear this all the time, ‘I used to love the holidays and now after my divorce I hate them. I dread them coming up.’ Or women will come to me and tell me that even though they don’t miss their ex at all, they still feel a lot of sadness around not being a family that’s all together during the holidays.
Because this is so common and because the holidays are coming up fast, I wanted to talk about why there can be so much hurt this time of year and give you some tools to use to help you feel a little bit better as we approach the holidays.

Welcome to Friday Flip on the Becoming You Again podcast. Every Friday I take your divorce problems, conundrums and questions and do a quick flip around to empower you to show up as the best you after divorce.
Do you feel like your ex left the marriage and then continues to reject you by making a great life for him, his new girlfriend and your kids? Are you constantly feeling like you were never enough and will never be enough? Do you just wish that you were lovable enough that he would have fought harder to stay married?
If you answered yes to any of these questions then this episode is for you. I'm answering Ariana's question about dealing with her constant feeling of rejection.

Forgiveness is something that can have a lot of emotional attachment to it. Some people believe that they have to forgive or should forgive because of religious or cultural backgrounds, but struggle to find forgiveness from that kind of guilty pressure.
Others believe that if you forgive someone it means that you're condoning or redeeming the hurt or abuse that was done to you. No forgiveness is necessary when the person on the other end isn't deserving of it.
In this episode I'm talking about forgiveness from all angles. I'll show you how forgiveness is 100% up to you and is a way for you to step into the authority over your own life by choosing one way or the other. I'll also teach you, if you choose to forgive, the four steps to follow to find forgiveness for yourself after divorce.

You've been there. It's 2 AM and you've woken up in a panic worrying about the many unknowns of the divorce that are weighing heavy on your mind. You're desperately tired. This is fourth night in a row where you've done this and each night it got harder and harder to fall back asleep. You sick and tired of being, well, tired and groggy the next day. You just want to get some sleep.
Many of us going through divorce struggle with divorce insomnia. We can't turn off the circular thoughts full of worry and anxiety and our nervous system is completely activated making it virtually impossible to fall back asleep and get a good night's rest when we need it most.
I'm going to teach you why this is happening and give you four solutions (plus a quick bonus solution at the end) to help you overcome your divorce insomnia. And these aren't your typical sleep tips that you hear on every other podcast, like drink some tea and make sure your room is dark. These are real solutions that focus directly on your mind and body working together to calm the nervous system when it gets activated to be able to help you fall asleep.

When we are the ones who were left behind it feels very painful. Usually this is because we tell ourselves that it was our fault in some way. We weren't good enough or pretty enough. We didn't have sex often enough. We just couldn't make them happy. We adopt the idea that we've been thrown away like a piece of trash especially if the marriage was a long one. Being the one left behind can feel very confusing, scary and hurtful.
In this episode I'm going to address why we turn to blaming ourselves for their action of leaving and how we can begin to see their action of leaving in a different way. I'm also going to teach you a few things you can begin to adopt right now that will help you feel much better about your life now and will help you move on from continuing to retell the painful story about how you were the one who was left behind.

Codependency is an attachment style where you need the other person in the relationship to give you approval in all the positive ways. You need other people to validate you as a person. You need their words to remind you that you have worth. To remind you that you are lovable and worthy and valuable.
When you are codependent you use other people’s emotions to gauge how you are allowed to emotionally show up. Sometimes this looks like being a people pleaser. You often don’t trust your own opinions. You defer decisions. You don’t value your words or your thoughts.
If you don't learn to let go of your codependent habits, you will end up recreating this attachment style in all of your other relationships moving forward. So that ends today. I'm going to teach you three steps that you can use to help you let go of your codependent habits and instead create healthy, strong relationships moving forward in your life.

For many of us, being alone when the kids are with our ex is our least favorite thing. It's been so long since we've been alone that we don't know how to do it. We get bored. We don't enjoy our own company. We don't even know what being single means after years of being in a marriage.
Listen in as I help anonymous figure out how to overcome being alone and figure out exactly what being single means to her.
