No matter how hard you try and sit down with your partner and explain to them exactly how you feel about something that’s been:

- Frustrating you
- Holding you back
- Weighing heavy on your mind
- Stressing you out

1. Tell them, “I have a lot on my mind right now and I would love to sit down with you and get it all off my chest, so please let me know when you have about half hour where you can give me your undivided attention”
2. Ask them, “I understand that this may be hard to hear, just know that I need to tell you these things because I love and respect you. May I please let you know what I have been experiencing recently?”

This may feel weird and strange initially but creating a safe space for you to express yourself truthfully to your partner will completely change the way you communicate!
