Can you be a competitive CrossFitter and Great Coach at the same time? So many of us got our start in CrossFit by wandering through the doors of a local affiliate looking to coach in exchange for access to a gym, and for many, that sparked the desire to compete at the highest level we could. Of course, we wanted to coach, but the expectation of quality coaching wasn't quite what it is today, and CrossFit gyms didn't saturate every city at the level they do now. Many coaches still live part-time life, exchanging their coaching credentials for the ability to work out whenever they choose, but how many are putting their training ahead of their coaching skills? Can you do both effectively? Is it possible to be a world-class coach that creates an atmosphere that members want to be in every day and a high-level athlete at the same time? For better or worse, we've experienced both the good and bad of this scenario, so we're here to share the knowledge in hopes that you can do what's right for your gym.
