  • 82. Embrace yourself fully w/ Juliana Riotto

Juliana Riotto is an 87kg weightlifter who competes for Team USA and Catalyst Athletics. She was recruited to weightlifting after winning a clean & jerk event in the 2015 CrossFit Open. Since then, she has competed internationally for Team USA multiple times. Some achievements include medals at Jr. Worlds, Jr. Pan Ams, and Jr. Lifter of the Year in 2018.

On the show, we got into Juliana's transition into weightlifting. She grew up with hopes of playing soccer in the Olympics, but transitioned when she realized that weightlifting was a more likely ticket to the games. You'll hear that her story is shaped by much more than lifting weights.

  • 81. Do not stop

For our short Friday episode, we're diving into the quote by Confucius. "It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop. "

On any journey, progress is going to stop. During this time period, you have two choices. Quit, or start looking at different metrics of progress. We're always making progress, you just might need to look a little harder to see it.

  • 77. Learning to pivot & when things get easy

On today's episode, we're diving into when to pivot. When you find something new that works better than what you've been doing, it's time to shift. It's not giving up or failing, you're just changing course.

For our quote of the week, Tim Grover is dropping some truth bombs on us.

"Everything gets easier when you stop expecting it to be easy."

  • 75. Stop counting and 10,000 kicks

This week, I'm diving into why you should stop checking the scoreboard. When you get started, it's easy to get lost in how many followers you have or how many downloads your podcast gets. But when that number is low, a lot of people give up. I give my take on how much you should be paying attention to the external factors.

We also cover the quote of the week from the legend Bruce Lee.

  • 74. Be your own hero w/ Annie Mayfield

On maybe one of the most inspiring episodes to date, Annie Mayfield is with us this week. Annie is an author, entrepreneur, and 9-5'er. On the show, we went into detail about her process of writing Be Your Own Hero. Her book was turned down 11 times before being accepted by a publisher. Annie tells how disappointing that process was, but how she kept getting up and going to the next one.

Annie is a voice for all twenty-somethings who are on the road to self-development. She talks about the difference between consuming information and taking action, how your why determines your path, and how she takes care of herself while maintaining a busy schedule.
