Brock reflects on the Huskies season in Washington Wednesday. Then, we have a discussion on whether the M's can swing a big trade or not, and we pile on Brock in Mean Tweets.
Brock and Salk take a look at some of the new series coming out around the NFL, including Aaron Rodgers' Netflix documentary, another Hard Knocks and Chris Jones dancing in Full Monty, and they laugh at all of them. Later, they welcome on Daniuel Jeremiah of the NFL Network for their weekly conversation.
The hour starts by bringing up MLB's proposed new idea of the golden at-bat rule and weighing the pros and cons of it. Brock and Salk certainly have some opinions about it. They also assess Geno Smith's current stock and a potential contract extension for him down the road. IN Blue 88, Brock dives in on advice he would give Geno if he were his agent, who will be the most important Seahawk on Sunday against the Cardinals and why he both loves and hates Oregon head coach Dan Lanning.
Salk is fired up to start the show as he's coaching his daughter's basketball team this weekend and he explains why he's so excited for it. Then, they re-air their conversation with Charles Davis of CBS.
How should flag planting in college football be handled? All four of us have slightly different answers. Then, we react to Chris Long and Matt Hasselbeck's thoughts on the NFC West race and we answer a lot of food questions in Answer the Question Jerk.
Brock and Salk look back to the Marshawn Lynch trade, a deal that altered the Seahawks franchise in so many ways. They compare that to the Ernest Jones trade and explain why they wonder if there are some real similarities there. Later, they welcome on Charles Davis of CBS Sports, who is broadcasting the Seahawks-Cardinals game this upcoming week, to get his look on the Seahawks and what has gone so well for them as of late.
Brock and Salk discuss whether or not a team and a coach needs to learn how to win and listen to some sound from Bill Belichick on the subject as well. Then, they debate which mariners trade targets would best fit the roster with a lot of time spent on Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm. In Blue 88, topics include Seahawks PFF grades, the Seahawks line heading into Sunday's game against the Cardinals and some of the reasoning behind WSU's late season collapse.
Salk opens the hour by playing some sound from WFAN where New York sports fans are fuming over the Jets loss to the Seahawks. He also shares a story of his own about calling in to a radio show recently. Then, they re-air their conversation with Mike Macdonald in which he shares his insight and what he liked in what he saw during the Seahawks win on Sunday.
Mike Macdonald joins Brock and Salk to discuss the Seahawks win, how they settled in after a slew of mistakes to start the game, his thoughts on why Leonard Williams has been so dominant the last couple of weeks, how much the defensive players get to practice picks and pick sixes, what was going on behind the scenes as they found out that Michael Dickson was injured, why Sataoa Laumea got the start at right guard and what he saw from their rushing attack.
Brock and Salk discuss how if a team is going to turn their frnachise over to one person, it has to be the right person. Tom Brady was the right person for that in Tampa Bay. Aaron Rodgers has been far from it in New York. Later, they get into all of their Seahawks Takeaways.
