Salk starts the show (live from the Virginia Mason Athletic Center) with a bunch of references of 80's stuff that resonates with people who are bummed and/or looking for excuses not to get up and work today. Feels weird to say that we might have seen back-to-back horrible Seattle Sports weekends with the M's losing the Royals after leading 11-2 with Luis Castillo on the mound. Salk is also furious that Jimmy G played terribly and let Russell Wilson put one last drive together to win the game on SNF. We listen to Pete Carroll's post-game press conference followed by Russell Wilson taking a shot at Pete.

Salk explains why there was a lot to like about Kelenic's return and he's not concerned with his serious demeanor. Plus we take your usual Friday phone calls and bring you another edition of Ranked.

With all the drama over the past week in Mariners-land we bring in Joe Fann for his weekly appearance to share his own thoughts and feelings on how the team moves forward without J-Rod, plus his opinion on the Seahawks & Falcons matchup. Another weekly conversation brings us to Gee Scott (Gee & Ursula, 97.3 KIRO) to discuss the situation happening within the Boston Celtics org, preferential treatment of players and a defense of Russell Wilson that we haven't heard.

A comfortable and productive Jarred Kelenic would be so amazing that it's tough for Salk to even imagine it, but there was so much to like about his performance yesterday. yesterday and there is a reason this guy was a top five prospect. We come up with reasons that he may not have loved the Gatorade bath. Our guest Greg Bishop's piece on Julio Rodriguez was released today on SI.com and Salk asks him what was biggest thing he learned during research for the story and if he's the new face of baseball. Bob Condotta fills in for Brock Huard's 'Blue 88' and Salk asks him who is leading this team, his interest in the Denver soap opera and what he's learned about Pete/John lately.

Salk is very excited to breathe easily after seeing the offensive firepower return to the Mariners lineup as the M's take down the A's 9-5 in Oakland, but at what cost? The ominous scene of Julio being escorted off the field by trainers haunted Mariners fans and Servais called it "concerning." Jarred Kelenic re-joined the team and had his best game in a long time w/ a HR and 2B. We revisit the conversation with Jerry Dipoto to hear what he had to say about Kelenic and the offensive struggles of the past week.

FOX Sports Chris Myers joins Brock and Salk to preview the Seahawks Falcons game. Then, we react to some of Jerry Dipoto's earlier comments on understanding the anxiety M's fans feel with the teams recent struggles and what's going on with Jesse Winker. Plus, a 'friendly' edition of Ranked.

Now that Brock & Salk have seen a couple weeks worth of NFL football and two games from the Seahawks & Broncos - where does Brock think their records could finish? Brock's answer is a little more optimistic than Salk's, but that leads into a glimpse of the future for what we may see at QB for the Seahawks. Another episode of The Jerry Dipoto Show falls on a day after the M's lose their 2nd rough game in a row and how they can turn it around plus what's happening with Jesse Winker.

If Brock was bothered yesterday, Salk is much more so today. That was a terrible loss with sloppy baseball and another waste of a good start. The Mariners have to hit. Not sure what to do about it when you aren’t. You just have to, period. Brock & Salk aren't sure if they used up their energy and are tapped out or if it's another issue, but it's all concerning. Brock's 'Blue 88' covers who could benefit by the Hawks being more aggressive on defense, why is Pete so beloved by his players and if Brock believes Geno can make off schedule plays.

Another brutal night for the Mariners as they drop 2-1 to the A's and lose the series in Oakland. The worst part is how the only opportunities were squandered by terrible at-bats and Salk can't stand to watch Jesse Winker in the left field one more day. Salk does not envy Scott Servais' position of finding patience & balance. Yesterday's KJ Wright Show was full of fascinating information so we decide to revisit one of the segments to hear how he reacts to Russell's home crowd booing him in his Denver debut and if Russell ever god mad in Seattle.

We read Brock some of his feedback from college football fans in Mean Tweets, talk UW football and George Kliavkoff's comments on negotiating a new media rights deal in Washington Wednesday and try to push Maura over the edge in Ranked.
