Salk wrote an article on SeattleSports.com (full story here) outlining the 5 keys to the M's final 10 games and it all starts with playing clean, error-free baseball. Second is getting Suarez & Julio's bats back. Third is getting someone -- anyone -- hot. Fourth is to re-sort out the bullpen. Fifth is CLINCH, celebrate, and rest. We open the phones so Brock can hear from Mariners fans and what they plan to do in the next 9 days to prepare themselves & the team for the final push.

Brock expects wholesale changes in Seahawks defense after Pete's comments yesterday and Maura reads an interesting stat from Condotta: "in their first year without Russell Wilson, Seahawks are 31st in rushing attempts with almost twice as many pass attempts (103) as runs (56)" and Salk says it speaks to Carroll trying to play to his QB's strengths. M's broadcaster Aaron Goldsmith joins Brock & Salk to discuss Sunday's meltdown and what it would feel like boarding a plane bound for the playoffs. Brock's Blue 88 covers Woolen now vs Sherm as a rookie, next step for Geno & are the NFC and AFC west really this bad?

After a necessary off day for all of our mental health, the Mariners are back in action tonight for the final homestand of the regular season and Salk says the time is now for them to capitalize on the moment. Salk shares his 5 keys for the M's to finish strong ahead of the playoff push, but ultimately wants them to clinch asap so they can get rest before the Wild Card games. We revisit the Pete Carroll Show to hear what Coach thought went wrong on Sunday and listen to what he says needs to happen to fix it.

Salk has four positives from the Mariners weekend but Brock isn't ready for silver linings so he insists Salk discuss his positives in four different voices to make it more entertaining. Then, Pete Carroll joins the show to discuss yesterday's loss, where he saw growth, what they need to improve on most, and what he saw from Geno Smith.

The Days of Awe are here! Jarred Kelenic was the highlight of the weekend for Salk and we're all rooting for him to succeed, but seeing him actually deliver makes it even better. Once he can finally move into a corner OF spot he could be a huge contributor down the stretch. Salk gets into a biblical analogy and we all come up with things to repent for to fix the woes of the weekend. In Takeaways Brock and Salk bring up the awful 3rd-19 that the defense gave up, how Damien Lewis's struggles may have cost them the game, the Lockett & DK margin for error and much, much more.

Brock & Salk try to figure out what is really happening with the Mariners. Injuries to your best hitters is brutal but it’s not just the bats. Errors, walks, balls lost in the sun and other pitching mistakes? Salk says the pitching is tired already and the weight of the expectations could be mounting. The Seahawks aren’t very good and made worse if your QB can’t strike in the final five minutes, and the defense gave up huge plays. Brock's "Blue 88" gives a grade to Geno Smith’s performance, what changes might we see in personnel after this game and Brock shares his own drone story.

Salk starts the show (live from the Virginia Mason Athletic Center) with a bunch of references of 80's stuff that resonates with people who are bummed and/or looking for excuses not to get up and work today. Feels weird to say that we might have seen back-to-back horrible Seattle Sports weekends with the M's losing the Royals after leading 11-2 with Luis Castillo on the mound. Salk is also furious that Jimmy G played terribly and let Russell Wilson put one last drive together to win the game on SNF. We listen to Pete Carroll's post-game press conference followed by Russell Wilson taking a shot at Pete.

Salk explains why there was a lot to like about Kelenic's return and he's not concerned with his serious demeanor. Plus we take your usual Friday phone calls and bring you another edition of Ranked.

With all the drama over the past week in Mariners-land we bring in Joe Fann for his weekly appearance to share his own thoughts and feelings on how the team moves forward without J-Rod, plus his opinion on the Seahawks & Falcons matchup. Another weekly conversation brings us to Gee Scott (Gee & Ursula, 97.3 KIRO) to discuss the situation happening within the Boston Celtics org, preferential treatment of players and a defense of Russell Wilson that we haven't heard.

A comfortable and productive Jarred Kelenic would be so amazing that it's tough for Salk to even imagine it, but there was so much to like about his performance yesterday. yesterday and there is a reason this guy was a top five prospect. We come up with reasons that he may not have loved the Gatorade bath. Our guest Greg Bishop's piece on Julio Rodriguez was released today on SI.com and Salk asks him what was biggest thing he learned during research for the story and if he's the new face of baseball. Bob Condotta fills in for Brock Huard's 'Blue 88' and Salk asks him who is leading this team, his interest in the Denver soap opera and what he's learned about Pete/John lately.
