On Saturday night Bianca and Lakey attended the Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs) in Sydney. Southern Cross Austereo picked up 32 awards including several from the Gold Coast teams.

Bianca, Ben and Lakey have a special guest on the show this morning – world-famous DJ Brooke Evers!

Brooke is a worldwide famous DJ but so is her husband, Matt Stafford for the Stafford Brothers. She says they are a super competitive couple, but she loves it.

This weekend she is performing at the GC500 and reminisces on the days when she used to “work my ass off” for 4 days as a Miss Indie 15 years ago.

Bianca, Ben and Lakey have a special guest on the show today, Connie Mitchell from Sneaky Sound System.

Connie is performing Sunday night at the GC500, she says it’s the favourite things she loves in the world “fast cars and dance music”. Ben asks what she does to prepare herself to go out on stage and perform and she replies, “to be honest my pre-match stretching is a shot of tequila”.

Connie talks about the craziest way Sneaky Sound System was formed.

A certain animal has caught Ben’s attention, a racing horse. Animo, it ran last weekend and is only 4 years old and has already won 9.5 million dollars this year alone. The horse is a colt meaning he is entire and can breed, Ben said the horse is now worth 150 million dollars.

Ben says he brought an Australian Sheppard not long ago, they paid $3,000. However, when they picked him up, he was a little sick, but the breeders said they would cover the vet bills, in the first 2 weeks of $11,000 so far.

For this week’s ‘SeaFM’s helping hand’, Bianca, Ben & Lakey have teamed up with former footy player Mat Rogers to help out a very worthy cause. 

The team caught wind of the hard work going into raising money for air-conditioning inside the school hall of the Currumbin Community Special School.

Staff at the school have been working around the clock to raise money for the new air-conditioners through sausage sizzles and other charity events but have still come up short with quotes coming in at a whopping $45,000.

Thankfully, former pro footy player Mat Rogers put his hand up to make an extremely generous donation to help out the students and staff at the Currumbin Community Special School.

Ben took all 5 of his youngest kids to Bounce on the weekend for a birthday party, from Brax who is 12 down to Pippa who is 2. When they got there Ava who is 9 wanted to start doing the tricks on the trampoline like her brothers, Ben gave her the advice “you’ve got to jump really high, tuck and spin”.

So, she jumped high and got scared and stopped ticking and went headfirst into the trampoline “She Buckled Bad”. Ben gave her advice and the night ended with Ben feeling very proud.
