Every community is made of people. Some people we know well and some we will never meet. Some we trust, love, value. Some we doubt, ignore or have never noticed before.

每个社会都是由人组成的。有些人我们很熟悉，有些人我们永远不会遇见。有些人是我们信任，珍爱，重视的；有些人是我们怀疑，忽视，或从未注意过的。

Some come into the light in times of crisis. Some never make it out of the shadow. Some have mysterious roles that few dare dream up, while some have duties so essential they become invisible.

有些人在危机时刻进入我们的视野，有些人却永远没能踏出阴影。有些人扮演者大多数人不敢想象的神秘角色，而有些人的责任举足轻重，以至仿若无形。

People. Not machines, not robots, not passports. Not colors, not numbers. People. Fraud, concerned, endangered, imperfect, unfinished. People. And all of us are tied to each other, visibly or not, by our dependence.

人，不是机械，不是机器人，不是护照。不是肤色，不是数据。人，有弱点，会担忧，受威胁，不完美，未完成。人，我们所有人，不论彼此是否察觉，都相互依存，彼此相连。

We may forget about some professions, because of their routine functions. But even life-saving actions, we will always overlook something or someone. But we cannot ignore that each and every one of us is somebody's someone.

我们也许会因为习以为常，而忘记一些职业。即使在救死扶伤的行动中，我们也总会忽视某些人和某些事。但我们不能忘记，我们每个人都是另一个人重要的“他/她”。

Behind every suit, every mask, every meal, every checkout, every delivery, every service, every step, every sentence, every headline, every statistic is somebody absent, someone needed.

在每套制服，每副面具，每一餐食，每次退房，每次送货，每次服务，每次行动，每一句话，每个标题，每份数据的背后，都总有人缺席，有人被需要。

A needed mother, father, daughter, son or brother, sister or niece, cousin, grandmother, grandfather, nephew. Somebody's someone. Someone’s somebody.

他们是被需要的母亲，父亲，女儿，儿子或兄弟，姐妹或侄女表亲，祖母祖父，侄子。某个人的他/她，他/她的某个人。

So, we must try try to remember, relate, repair, reform, remind. Today, yesterday, tomorrow in extremes and in routines. If they are present for you, they're absent for someone else. And if they stop breathing, they would be missed.

因此，我们必须努力，努力去铭记，去讲述，补救，改革，警醒。今天，昨天，明天，不论是在绝境之日还是每天日常。如果有人为你出现，那必定他会在别人身旁缺席。如果他们停止了呼吸，必会被人思念。

Don't take them for granted!

不要将他们的付出当做理所当然！
