  • Encouragement After Election Day: Finding Hope & Peace Regardless of Outcomes

It's the day after the election which means that there are people out there that feel turbulent. Regardless of what side you are on, we need to be reminded that no person is in control of this world, God is in control! If you need a reminder, or encouragement that our God is the one who sits on the throne, this episode is for you!

    Key Takeaways:

    • We have an advocate who is with us always. He is the Holy Spirit.
    • Surrender leads to trust and trust leads to peace!
    • It takes courage to trust God, but when we DO trust Him, we can rest.
    • Where are we moving? Are we moving toward fear or toward faith?

  • God Is Calling You To MOVE!

Join me as I celebrate my 29th spiritual birthday by sharing a message of encouragement with my home church!

God is calling us to move, and it is my heart's desire to encourage you to take those first steps toward movement. If you have been passive, take steps of pursuit, and if you are already in pursuit, make time to be available and see what God does through you!

    Key Takeaways:

    • Before and after moments are invitiations for us to examine our lives and see where we are at.
    • Be moved by an urgency of excitement rather than an urgency of fear. Urgency of fear can lead us in the wrong direction.
    • Knowing your purpose is pivotal to doing God things. Without knowing our purpose we can allow good things to keep us from the God things.
    • Our Ministry happens within the church and our mission happens in the world.
    • Using your gifts are vital to both your ministry and your mission. If you aren't using those gifts you need to ask yourself, why?
    • Worship is an expression of our gratitude

  • Make Room for Celebration in Your Life

How often do you achieve a milestone only to have people ask what is coming NEXT for you? You graduate high school and everyone wants to know what college you are attending. You finish college and people want to know what career path you will walk down. Then it's marriage, kids, and more kids.

What would it look like to pause after a big moment in your life and truly celebrate it? I would encourage you to make space in your life to appreciate what God has done in and through you before you commit your time and energy into contemplating what is next.

    Key Takeaways:

    • Enjoy the NOW season. God has you where you are for a specific reason. Be present in it and allow yourself to enjoy it! Don't let business keep you from enjoying and celebrating God's gifts.
    • Learn to say YES to the "God" things, not the "good" things. There will be opportunities we need to say no to (even though the are good things), because they aren't what God is calling us to.
    • Small miracles are still miracles. Look for them in your life and you will find them.
    • Use your platform to celebrate what God has done for you. Take a step outside of your comfort zone, be brave, and show the world all that God is working through you for good!

  • Your Invitation to be Bitter or Better with Guest Leslie Begin

We all deal with struggle and difficulty, and as we face the hardships in life, we each have the invitation to be bitter or be better. Join my friend Leslie Begin and I as we talk through what it looks like to make the right choice.

Leslie Begin is an incredible wife, mom of 6, coach, and entrepreneur. She has been an encouragement to me for over 7 plus years of friendship, and more than anything, she is an incredible human.

    Key Takeaways:

    • There are times in our lives when we unknowingly choose bitterness. It's important to really examine ourselves and see if a root of bitterness has taken hold in our hearts.
    • What doesn't get transformed gets transferred. If you aren't willing to do the work in your own life, some of that baggage will be transferred to your kids. Don't put that burden on them.
    • Examine your set of survival skills and determine where you turn in a crisis. It may be time to discard some of those skills and acquire new ones.
    • Triggers are invitations or information. Rather than accepting an invitation to overreact and further aggravate a stressful decision, choose to use your triggers as information you learn and grow from.

  • Tune Out Distractions and Enjoy the Gift of Today

How many times do you find yourself distracted? You juggle so many plates and one thing bleeds into another and you can never be fully present in any one thing. Much of your life is viewed from just beyond your screen as you try to keep up on work, friends, and family.

I believe God is calling us to something more. He is calling us to be fully present, especially in our time with him. Don't allow yourself to be so distracted you can't enjoy the gift of today that you've been given.

    Key Takeaways:

    • We need to make room for God's faithfulness in our lives. When we are so busy, we miss out on the little ways God is faithful to us every day.
    • Rise up, seek, pray and listen. Jesus himself had to make time early daily to connect with his Father. If Jesus needed that time, so do we!
    • Don't let yourself miss the moments and lose your sense of wonder. Let yourself be blown away by the little things and embrace that childhood wonder you once had.
    • Consider what you need to surrender in your life today to create a less distracted life, and then execute on that! Create rhythms and routines that support fewer distractions!

  • Get Your Hopes Up with Guest Alison Wallwork

Have you ever found yourself afraid to get your hopes up? You want to feel excitement and believe something good is coming for you, but fear creeps in and robs you of hope. Today we are going to address the need to get your hopes up! Joining me in the conversation is my dear friend, Alison Wallwork.

Alison is a wife, mom, author, speaker, and my personal pastor. She and her husband have been doing ministry for over 20 years, and together they have 4 boys aged 11-17. Alison enjoys speaking at Women's Ministry events, conferences, retreats, church services, seminars, or other special functions.

She speaks with passion, transparency, conviction, and a love for the Word of God as she inspires and encourages others to seek God in their everyday lives.

    Key Takeaways:

    • Together we examine why we are so afraid to get our hopes up. The fear of disappointment and failure are often the culprit.

    • Why we grasp at control – thinking we can manipulate the outcome when we truly aren't in control at all.

    • The importance of not passing our wounds on to our children. We can project our fear of getting our hopes up onto our kids and rob them of joy.

    • The importance of anchoring ourselves in God. When our hope is anchored in the right source we don't have to worry about trusting the outcome to fulfill our hope.

    • Allowing ourselves to feel fear, but not allowing it to be the loudest voice in our lives!

This involves placing ourselves in uncomfortable situations, learning new skills, and becoming the people we need to be to fulfill our potential and purpose.

    • We Should Build a Supportive Community: We realize the importance of having a strong support system. By surrounding ourselves with like-minded individuals, we can gain encouragement, accountability, and strength, especially when facing difficult times.

    • Stay consistent in your efforts. Over time, you'll see progress, and even if it's slow, each step forward is a step toward your goals. Keep the faith and trust in the process.

    • Reflect on the dreams and the fearless spirit you had as a child. Reconnect with that part of yourself that believed anything was possible and wasn't afraid to try. Bring that energy back into your life now, embrace new challenges, and allow yourself to dream big once again.
