Do You Struggle To Cut Through The Noise & Attract Referrals?
Business is all about relationships. So if you’re smart, you will develop a strategy for really recognizing, appreciating, nurturing, and nourishing those relationships.
“The hinges that swing the biggest doors are the relationships you have.” Roland Frasier
As our guest today, we have John Ruhlin, the CEO, and founder of Giftology. He also has a book of that same name that you can get here.
“Nobody wakes up at 4:00 AM and says, man, if I had a gift strategy, my business would change forever. But, most people, if they’re honest with themselves, would say that it every business, every industry rises and falls on relationships”. John Ruhlin
Today’s Top Takeaways“You’re actually trying to manipulate them into becoming a billboard for you, and you actually could spend money to damage the relationship.” John Ruhlin.
“A true gift is no strings attached, but what’s funny is the less you make it about yourself. The more they make it about you.” John Ruhlin
• How to set an appropriate budget.
“You need to have a strategy on how you’re going to show up for people and be different and, you know, stay top of mind and engage in these relationships so that they want to refer your business and do more business with you.’ John Ruhlin.
• The ROI you can expect to see when you invest in people and relationships in the right way and for the longevity of it.
• Keys to choosing the right gift.
“Most people waste money because they give gifts as a reactionary thing.” John Ruhlin

We’re finally airing an episode with Jerry Conti, a serial entrepreneur, and a world-class connector. He’s the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of LuxHomePro and now BoomSTR. Like many of our guests, Jerry’s all about strategic partnerships.
This episode was recorded in Mexico at WarRoom before things were turned upside down in 2020. Listen for his smart strategy and the insight and takeaways that still hold true.

“It's about traffic and conversion. I mean, at the end of the day, that's all we do. How do you get more heads in beds in the short term rental space? How do you get more butts in seats in the seminars? Right? It is, it's the same thing. And so it's just a matter of understanding marketing. There are 600,000 vacation rentals in the United States. And most of those operators and homeowners have no clue of what they’re doing. But I can scale the marketing worldwide because I can do it from anywhere. I can be in Scottsdale and market your home in London. There's no geographic barrier.” Jerry Conti
Jerry’s Core Arbitrage Strategy
“It’s better to actually rent your house on a short-term level because if the renter doesn’t pay, you have nothing really to fall back on, and it may take you a month or two, three or four months, even kick them out.” Jerry Conti
How Conti has scaled this through Events & Partnerships
“Anytime that you're looking to do anything, find somebody that's already aggregated the thing you want and go there first, because you'll have it at scale instantly instead of having to do it one or two at a time.” Roland Frasier

“What if I could not just teach somebody how to fish, but maybe fish with them? Like, let’s put the rods in the water together. And, that was an idea that came out of doing this for a long time. How can we speed this up for our students?” Jerry Conti.

And the answer was no, which led me to this whole other exploration of how to connect your head, your heart, and your heart purpose”. Yanik Silver.
“Customers want to buy from companies that have a greater purpose, greater meaning, and they’re willing to either spend the same and change brands, or change whatever company they buy from, and they’re even willing to spend more.” Yanik Silver.

To end the year, we are sharing (re-airing) a couple of our favorite timeless episodes.
From Maximum Security Prison To Speaking At The Whitehouse: Andre Norman is as qualified as anyone to talk about Transformation. And after 2020, we all could use some transformation.Click to find us on Apple Podcasts and other podcast players.
Andre shares his incredible story and the framework he's built to help others. Andre travels the world as a public speaker, including engagements at the Whitehouse, Harvard Law School, and London School of Business.
"I thought… If I can't be a psychopath, why be in jail? I want to be free. But I looked at all the groups in the jail, and they would all come back to jail. I saw that "Free" didn't work. So I switched my goal to successful." Andre Norman
From illiteracy to gang activity, Andre's childhood prepared him for nothing less than a life of crime and violence. This behavior eventually led Andre to be sentenced to over 100 years in prison. As a natural-born leader, he quickly rose to the top of the prison gang system, where he managed gang activities from within the confines of a maximum-security prison. During his two-year stay in solitary confinement, Andre had an "epiphany," and he decided to turn his life around.
"I look at every variable that I can be shut down in or killed on. Get it right or die. I took training people very seriously because where I came from the first time I get it wrong, I die". Andre Norman
