The Penn State wrestling show from Blue-White Illustrated is back with a recap of Final X plus the latest on the Nittany Lions' 2025-2026 schedule.
Host Thomas Frank Carr and reporter Greg Pickel start this week's show with a look at how past, present, and future members of head coach Cael Sanderson's program, plus Nittany Lion Wrestling Club members, performed at the event that sets the U.S. National team. Incoming freshman PJ Duke stole the show in Newark and thus dominates the conversation on this episode. Despite not yet receiving his high school diploma, the New York native is going to World's as his country's representative at 70 kilograms after stunning Cornell great Yianni Diakomihalis with a pin to win their best-of-three series 2-1. Duke, who is a four-time state champ, capped it off with a back flip seconds after the referee slapped the mat to end the match.

Penn State at the Elite 11
It's been six out of seven years that Penn State has had a quarterback commit at the Elite 11 finals in Los Angeles. We'll discuss the importance of having a player at the event and what it means for Huhn, who is Penn State's representative this year in a two QB class.
Does Huhn need to win the event for it to be a successful year for Penn State? We'll discuss the event's history and how it found quarterback talent through the years.
Next, we'll discuss what Penn State linebackers coach Dan Connor said about recent transfer Amare Campbell. Pickel wrote about the team's acquisition in the transfer portal and what drew Connor to him out of North Carolina. We'll discuss how he fits with the program and what Connor had to say about the room.
Finally, we'll discuss Penn State's hunt for more talent this summer. The team hosts a prospect camp on Wednesday, which Blue White Illustrated will attend. Be sure to follow us on social media and on the Blue White Illustrated message board to get up-to-date information about the event.
Buy or Sell
We'll end the show by playing another round of Buy or Sell? We'll give a statement and then ask if you buy that fact or want to sell it for the upcoming 2025 season. Today, we'll be discussing the defensive starting unit and whether a transfer will start for the Nittany Lions; we'll also examine the team's backup quarterback situation.
Of course, we'll be taking your questions throughout the show! JOin us live at 10 a.m. on YouTube to be part of the action!

This time of year is all about the official visits in Penn State football recruiting. The team hosted elite players last weekend at critical positions like defensive end, defensive tackle and offensive tackle. This week, they'll bring in a five-star player, top targets at tight end, and several sleeper targets to round out the group. Join the BWI Live Recruiting show as reporter Ryan Snyder discusses those topics, plus he takes your questions on the show!
We're live at 10 a.m. on YouTube. If you can't catch the show live and be part of the chat, check us out on replay either on the channel, here in this article, or anywhere you get your podcasts.
Penn State recruiting news and previews
Of course, it's not all about official visits. Penn State will continue its search for the next wave of prospects on Friday with a team camp, hosting seven-on-seven teams from across the region. Snyder will give you a quick preview of what to expect.
Next, we'll return to cornerback Amauri Polydor's commitment to the Penn State last weekend. Snyder spoke with On3 National recruiting director Charles Power about the three-star cornerback. He'll relate what Power had to say about Polydor's film and what he expects from the St. Frances cornerback this coming season.
Finally, Snyder will recap the conversations he had with Penn State's elite targets from last weekend. What did Grayson Mckeogh have to say about his time with the Nittany Lions? Snyder spoke with the LaSalle offensive tackle. He also spoke with potential five-star defensive Luke Wafle's father about the visit his son took last weekend. We'll review the highlights of those conversations.
Official visit preview
Finally, we'll spend the second half of the show discussing the players visiting campus this weekend. From five-star offensive lineman Immanuel Iheanacho to commits Ben Eziuka and Terry Wiggins, Snyder will discuss the stories and importance of the players visiting this weekend. Can Penn State swing for the fences with the elite lineman visiting, such as Texas native Drew Evers?
We'll also track the story of fast-rising offensive tackle Charlie Thom. The Avon Old Farms prospect received an offer less than a week ago and has quickly scheduled an official visit to Penn State for this weekend. We'll discuss the tackle situation with Snyder to understand how Thom fits into the picture with so many elite prospects considering joining position coach Phil Trautwein's room.

The Team USA roster for the Senior World Wrestling Championships will be announced this weekend in Newark, N.J. Penn State standouts and Nittany Lion Wrestling Club members are competing at Final X. Some are vying for a backup spot on the early portion of the day-long card. Others are seeking a starting spot on the national team for this year's championships, which are set for September in Croatia.
We preview Saturday's action on a fresh episode of the Blue-White Illustrated Penn State wrestling show.
Host Thomas Frank Carr and reporter Greg Pickel start by taking a look at the true third place matches. Those start at 12:30 p.m. ET. Multiple wrestlers, including incoming freshman Marcus Blaze and five-time NCAA champ Carter Starocci, are competing for a backup spot on Team USA. Blaze is in the 65 kilogram (143.3 pounds) true third place match opposite Nebraska's Brock Hardy. Starocci, then, has a familiar foe in Parker Keckeisen of Northern Iowa in the 86-kilogram (189.5 pounds) true third place match. A win would mean Blaze and Starocci have national team resources for the next year. And, for Blaze in particular, it would mean the U23 Team USA spot at 65 kilograms is his to turn down.

The Penn State Nittany Lions football team opened the doors of the Lasch Building to the media last Thursday for an hour-long discussion with the media. Today, we'll dive deeper into those conversations on the BWI Live show and discuss what we learned and what we gleaned from the conversations with Penn State's coordinators and staff. We'll also play another round of buy or sell and take your questions in the live chat!

Penn State gets even more preseason accolades
There's no secret at this point that the Penn State football team is the national media darling of the 2025 offseason. Phil Steele published his top 40 teams for the upcoming season, and Steele was very high on the Nittany Lions. Find out where he ranks the program and how many All-Americans he expects the team to produce this fall.
To do that, the team will need to be elite on both sides of the football. We'll put those ideas to the test in our latest edition of Buy or Sell. Today, we'll focus primarily on the defensive side of the ball. Can Penn State allow fewer rushing yards than it did last season? Will they produce more takeaways? We'll debate those ideas on today's show. Reporter Greg Pickel will give his thoughts on Steele's analysis and then give you his thoughts on those ideas.
You can play along in the chat by playing Buy or Sell with us! We'll read the best answers live on air.
Between the Lines
It's now a summertime tradition for the Penn State coaching staff to sit down with the media at the start of June to discuss the offseason topics on the minds of fans and the media. Today, we'll dive deeper into those conversations in Between the Lines. We'll review Penn State head coach James Franklin's comments on why Ta'Mere Robinson left the program. You'll also hear what differences the linebacker room faces, according to Jim Knowles. Finally, Andy Kotelnicki will give his scouting report on Trebor Pena and what he thinks the differences will be in his offense now that the team is in its second year under his direction.

The new era of college sports is here. Penn State football, along with the rest of the sport, finally got a resolution on the future of the sport this past weekend when the NCAA v. House settlement finally passed. On today's BWI Live Show, we'll discuss the latest news on revenue sharing, Penn State's deal, or lack thereof, with private capital, plus the latest Penn State football and recruiting news.
Join the BWI Live Show at 10 a.m. on YouTube to be part of the conversation. We'll be taking comments and questions from the live chat during the show and answering your questions about today's topics. The best way to know when we go live is to subscribe to the Blue White Illustrated YouTube Channel and enable notifications. That way, you'll receive alerts when we post breaking news or go live.
Penn State News update
There was plenty of news that dropped after our final show on Thursday of last week. Today, we'll cover the biggest Penn State football news that's happened since then. Firstly, we'll discuss the report that Penn State and UCLA were the first two athletic departments to take on private equity from Elevate’s College Investment Initiative.
However, Penn State athletic director Pat Kraft quickly released a statement denying those reports, as did UCLA's athletic department. We'll discuss the situation to start the show.
Next, we'll dig into the news that redshirt freshman Max Granville suffered a long-term injury after spring practice. Reporters Sean Fitz and Nate Bauer will discuss the impact on the defensive end position and where that leaves Penn State's pass-rushing unit.
NCAA Settlement ushers in new era of college football
Next, the college sports world learned over the weekend that Judge Claudia Wilkins signed off on the House v. NCAA settlement agreement. The agreement sets into motion a new framework for college sports where the program can directly pay athletes.
Does this mean the end of NIL? What does this mean for walk-on players? We'll discuss the most pressing questions for fans during the show.
Fitz's recruiting update and Between the Lines
Finally, we'll end the show by getting into some real football topics. Penn State hosted a massive contingent of offensive and defensive line prospects this weekend, including some of the top remaining players in the Class of 2026. How did the team do in convincing those players that Penn State is the place to be? Fitz will discuss the reaction to the weekend, plus share his thoughts about what he saw at the team's various prospect camps on Friday and Sunday.
Lastly, we'll rewind the clock to last Thursday at noon when Penn State head coach James Franklin sat down (literally) with the media to discuss the state of the team in June. We'll review three of his comments during our series Between the Lines.
Join the show today to be part of the action! We're live at 10, and you can catch the replays on the channel, here in this article, or anywhere you get your podcasts.

We're in the thick of official visit season for Penn State football recruiting. The team hosted its current commitments in the Class of 2026 last weekend, tying up loose ends and bringing the class together for a celebratory weekend. Now, the team will host one of its most important weekends of the summer, with most of its top defensive line targets and several top players at other positions coming to Happy Valley en mass on Friday. We'll discuss that, break down Joey O'Brien's final four schools, and recap the past weekend's camps.
Join the BWI Live show for a special 9 a.m. start time today. We'll cover those topics, along with your comments and questions, in the live chat! The best way to stay up to date with the latest Penn State football news, including James Franklin's press conference this afternoon, is to subscribe to the Blue White Illustrated YouTube Channel. Enable notifications so you get an alert when we post videos, go live, or bring you breaking news about Penn State commitments.
One of Penn State's top targets in 2026 sets commitment date
La Salle College High School safety Joey O'Brien has set his commitment date and trimmed his list of finalists down to four schools. We'll give you the latest information on the four-star prospect and what the news could mean for Penn State.
Official visit preview
Of course, the most critical news this week is that Penn State hosts its most star-studded lineup of the official visit season. While they've hosted top talent and players critical to this cycle's success, no weekend has as many as June 6-8. Multiple targets at the top of their positions will visit, including Carter Meadows and Luke Wafle at defensive end, Damari Simeon and Titan Davis at defensive tackle, and Grayson McKeogh at offensive tackle.
We'll discuss how critical it is for Penn State to land a number of the players visiting this weekend, especially considering this group comprises mostly trench players, which is where the Class of 2026 has its most remaining spots. Reporters Ryan Snyder and Sean Fitz will break down the visitors and we'll show you highlights of the team's top targets visiting this weekend.
Wrapping up last weekend's biggest events
Of course, last weekend was also crucial to the program's current and future success. Snyder went to the Under Armour camp in Baltimore and will give his report on what he saw and who stood out during the event. We'll also recap the reactions and news coming out of the team's last official visit weekend, which consisted of the team's committed players and a handful of top targets.

Path to the field for Penn State freshmen
The best football players will play on any team, regardless of position or age. However, the situation is also critical for a young player to see the field early. Is there a role on the team that they can fill, even if its not a starting job? We'll look at the team's roster and examine the best places for a young player to contribute this fall.
BWI Mailbag
Finally, we'll spend an extended period of time in the BWI Mailbag to end the show. We've taken questions from the Lions Den message board to feature in the segment, but if you've got a question that you'd like to ask, join the show live and give us your best shot! If you listen to the podcast version, submit a question to Apple podcasts with a five-star review, and we'll answer that question on a future episode.

The Penn State football team received good news late last week. The long-standing issue of when to hold the annual White Out Game is over. Television partners announced that the game will be on in primetime on Sept. 27, giving the Nittany Lions its biggest atmosphere against the best opponent on the home schedule. We'll discuss that, another honor for Saquon Barkley, plus recruiting and team discussion throughout the show!
Join the BWI Live show at 10 a.m. on YouTube today as we discuss if the defensive secondary will be better or worse than last season. Reporters Sean Fitz and Nate Bauer join the show for a 60-minute conversation with you! Join the live chat to ask questions and interact with the show. We'll take questions throughout the program and open up the floor for you during the BWI Mailbag to end the show.
Penn State News
Penn State will host Oregon on NBC this fall in primetime. Not only does the team get to host the reigning Big Ten Champions at night, they also get to open the season at home. We discuss how significant a win, either in perception or reality, this decision is for the program.
Next up, we'll discuss the news that Barkley is the latest cover athlete for the Madden video game franchise. Is this a boost for Penn State recruiting? Or just another fun achievement for Nittany Lions fans to celebrate?
Fitz's Recruiting Udpate
The next phase of Penn State recruiting began in earnest over the weekend. The team hosted its 2025 signing class on Friday and Saturday followed by its first camp of the summer to evaluate prospects for coming cycles.
However, most of the focus this weekend was on one 2026 athlete trying to prove he belonged in the current class. Detroit offensive lineman Ben Eziuka camped with the program to prove that he'd improved from last offseason. How did that go? We tracked his progress and performance throughout the afternoon and Fitz will discuss what he thinks on today's recruiting update.
We will also highlight the rest of the offensive line, thanks to our tracking of the group through the afternoon. Finally, we'll preview the upcoming official visit weekend, which is stocked with elite talent. Is this Penn State's most important recruiting weekend of the official visit calendar? Fitz will weigh in.
Better or Worse and the BWI Mailbag
Finally, we'll end the show by discussing the Penn State football team for 2025. Is the team better or worse in the defensive backfield? We'll finish our look at the team's roster heading into the fall by assessing the linebackers, cornerbacks, and safeties.
The last few minutes of the show, as always, are dedicated to you! We'll be answering questions in the BWI Mailbag live to end the show so join us at 10 to get your questions answered live!
