In July 2014, ​Catherine Martinez, a rising fitness model and mother-of-two, was brutally murdered in her ​Houston apartment. Her husband, ​Russell Neal, who was a member of the ​R&B group ​Hi-Five, voluntarily walked into the police department and confessed to the crime, claiming that she needed medical attention. Catherine's body was found with multiple blunt force injuries to her head and numerous stab wounds to her back and shoulder. The murder weapons, a tire jack and a knife, were found in the apartment. The couple's two young sons were present in the house at the time of the murder.
