We all have a story. We tell it to ourselves (and others) over and over. Sometimes consciously and perhaps sometimes subconsciously. Maybe it was a story that we were told growing up, or maybe it was one that we ourselves put together as best we could to understand our world and our personal circumstances. Stories are the very thing that Roll With The Punches is based on. Hearing the power of other people's stories and perspectives so we might new gain strategies, inspiration, insights and resources to help us navigate our own lives better.
However, do you ever hear someone's story that feels like yours, but where they've drawn strength from adversity you feel like your story is the brick pulling you deeper into the emotional quicksand. This is a question I asked Dr. Bruce Perry to see what perspective he had towards the theory around how we relate to our story. It's a question that I continue to aspire to gain as many answers from as many guests I can, to help as many people find their own answers and hopefully release the anchor that might be our current relationship with our story.
This episode is some thoughts around this process, I hope it lands with some of you.
