034: Welcome back listeners! This week is part one of an episode with Laurie Morris. Laurie is a mom to three, her son was diagnosed with Autism diagnosis 4 years ago. She is also a special education teacher.
Laurie begins by sharing about her love of making things look beautiful and out together. She actually started a ballon decorating business in the middle of the pandemic last year! This need to have the perfect picture also carries into her personal life and really made it difficult for her to come to terms with her sons diagnosis and all that it meant for their life.
Finally the weight was too much for her to bear and she made the bold decision to share her sons diagnosis and their families story with the world. Laurie explains that the more she is open and shares about her son, the more she comes to terms with his diagnosis and knows that it’s all going to be okay. She realizes she doesn’t have to please everybody anymore.
