The Stories:
Hi there! This week we’re focusing on unexplained mass casualties, our favorite stories. Nydia shares the story of the Sudden Unexplained Death Syndrome that plagued the Hmong refugees during the late ’70s and ’80s. Dana tells us the eerie tale of the Ourang Medan ghost ship. We throw some possible theories out there about both stories. We also discuss The Witcher now playing on Netflix, sleep paralysis, the inspiration for Nightmare on Elm Street, and much more.
The Food:
This week was Nydia’s turn to cook and for dinner, she decided to go Asian with an easy chicken pad Thai. She shares that what made it super easy was the pre-cooked noodles she used. For dessert, Dana made a Hong Kong-style mango pudding, which tasted great but had a hairy texture. Maybe don’t use canned mango. The wine this week was a Dr. G dry riesling, which at the under $12 price point hit the spot and paired well with the pad Thai.
