  • Rory Best Shares The Moment He Was Glad To Be Retired
It's hard to believe it's been two years since Rory Best hung up the jersey after a career which saw him become one of the most capped players of all time and captain the Irish side during some of their highest of highs.
    [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2021/07/19115034/RoryBest_1907.mp3"][/audio]
Since departing the Irish fold, Rory has found his passion for farming and is now working with his Dad, John to remind people of the importance of protecting your hearing.
Rory has become a Specsavers' Audiology ambassador and is working with them during Farm Safety Week to highlight the decibels people need to be watch out for and the measures that farmers can take to look after their hearing and avoid issues in later life.
Speaking to Dermot and Dave, Rory explained how life on the farm differs to his rugby career, gave his take on the Lions tour and revealed the match that made him glad to be retired.

  • The Weird Effect Flying Ants Have On Seagulls
Seagulls and flying ants have a lot in common. They can both soar through the skies, they're both massive parts of the Irish summer and they're both an absolute pain in the face.
    [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2021/07/16114253/CollieEnnis_1607.mp3"][/audio]
It's that time of the year again when the Queen ants leave home in search of a male to use to build their own colonies.
The result is thousands and THOUSANDS of them in our skies, in fact, some swarms are so big they show up on the UK's Met Office radar.

Our radar is picking up more than just #rain this morning – it's actually insects!
Whilst there are a few rain showers, many of the echoes are in fact insects

  • The Free And Simple Anxiety Relief You Can Do Anywhere
It's been a time! Even as we begin to reemerge from our cocoons and start to see people again, the anxiety can be real.
    [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2021/07/15104918/Tapping_1507.mp3"][/audio]
But there is a simple method to help deal with stress, nerves and even pain that you can do anywhere.
'Tapping' is an ancient form of therapy that's been used for centuries but recent studies have shown the impact it can have on your body and mind.
Also known as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) or psychological acupressure, the simple movement draws on theories from traditional Chinese medicine and involves tapping on certain points in the body while concentrating on emotional issues to help relieve what's troubling you.
Lee Tracey from Reformation Pilates and Sweat Studio joined Dermot and Dave to explain the benefits she has seen and demonstrate how it works.

    [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2021/07/14125130/AmsterdamBoats_1407.mp3"][/audio]
Roboat is a 5-year research project between the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  The plan is to see if the canals of Amsterdam can accommodate autonomous boats.
Ynse Deinema is the Project Coordinator with Roboat and he joined Dermot and Dave to tell them all about the problem and what would happen if some drunken tourist fell into the canal in front of one of these boats.
