  • Dermot Doesn't Hold Back On What He Thinks Of The Budget
"Taxing the hole off people and patting yourselves on the back for it, it just doesn't work for me"
In what has been a very testing week for Ireland environmentally, fiscally and politically, Today FM's Dermot and Dave wanted to learn a bit more about the Extinction Rebellion movement.
The global group, who describes itself as a 'non-violent Rebellion against the governments of the world for climate and ecological justice', have caused disruptions in Dublin since Monday as part of a seven-day protest there.

  • Top 11 Most Annoying Things About Sharing With Housemates
    Being a housemate isn't easy.
Even if ye all get on like a house on fire, there's always a few idiosyncrasies that will grind each others' gears.
Housemate matching site Ideal Flatmate recently conducted a survey of 1,000 people currently renting shared accommodation, where they asked people for the habits they hate most.
    Here are the results:
    11 - Walking around half naked (1%)
    10 - Their pets (1%)
     9 - Loud sex (4%)
8 - Stinking out the place with food you cook/eat (4%)
7 - Partying with friends at short notice (5%)
6 - The amount of time spent in the bathroom in the morning (5%)
     5 - Eating someone else's food (6%)
4 - Not splitting the cost of bills fairly (9%)
     3 - Smoking in the house/apartment (11%)
2 - Not doing their fair share of chores (22%)
     1 - Poor cleanliness (32%)
Seán Reidy from the Dermot and Dave team talked the lads through these annoyances and even spilled the beans on his own flatmates.
What he failed to remember is that one of the people he lives with works in Marconi House (Today FM HQ), so we sneakily asked Spin FM's Nathan O'Reilly (of Fully Charged with Graham and Nathan fame) to return the favour.
Listeners also had a few gems to throw into the mix.

  • This Is How Much Money The World's Richest Person Makes Per Second
He's the richest person in HISTORY!
Does the name Jeff Bezos sound familiar to you? Is it ringing any bells at all?
Well it should, because I can guarantee that at some point in your life you've given him a few quid.
Bezos is the founder, CEO and president of Amazon.com
Dave Moore had a mind-boggling stat for us on Dave's World today after his mate Luke retweeted this:
If you worked every single day, making $5000/day, from the time Columbus sailed to America, to the time you are reading this tweet, you would still not be a billionaire, and you would still have less money than Jeff Bezos makes in a week. No one works for a billion dollars.
