    Today, he was buzzing for the Dermot and Dave Live! tour in Donegal and had a few queries about Dancing on Ice.

  • Dermot Bannon Admits His Own Home Renovation Is "A Real Head Melt"
    He has way too much room to improve
    We've all watched Dermot Bannon do his thang on Room to Improve over the past number of years and 99% of the time he's cool as a breeze.
    It usually takes a bit of compromise to help get his clients over the line but he takes it in his stride and the results are always amazing.
    The thing about clients is they're the ones dictating to him, which means there are certain boundaries. So what happens when the shackles are cast off?
    Well that's exactly what has happened Ireland's most high-profile architect during the renovation of his new family home in Drumcondra.
    Speaking on Dermot and Dave, the perfectionist admits to overthinking and being stressed out with the project saying, "It's because I have every option open to me. It becomes a real head melt".
    The fruits of his labour will be shown on RTÉ this coming January, in a 2-part special he has temporarily christened "Chez Dermo".
    Dermot Whelan then hits him with this stat;
    Room to Improve has the highest interaction to any TV show made or shown in Ireland, beating anything from ITV, BBC, Sky or Netflix.
    Bannon praises the "realness" of the show and says it's all down to the calibre of characters they've been lucky enough to work with, "it's all about following them on their journeys".
    Of course the lads couldn't let him go without calling him out on his budgeting. Though he does make a strong case as to why, "small budgets won't work".

  • Irish Fisherman Chats About Catching Monster Tuna Off The Cork Coast
    The bluefin tuna measured over 8ft in length and weighed close to 600lbs
    On Sunday last, fisherman David Edwards and his crew brought a new meaning to the phrase 'Catch of the Day', when they reeled in a 270+ kg Atlantic bluefin tuna off the west coast of Cork.
    Dave is a member of the West Cork Charters and is part of the tag and release conservation programme aimed at monitoring the species population in the north East Atlantic.
    Dermot and Dave caught up with Edwards to hear all about the experience and brush off the €3million the tuna was reported to be worth.
    If it really was gonna be worth 3 million there would have been some arguments on the boat I think
    He also emphasises the effort they go to not to hurt their catch and shocked us with how expensive the industry is.

  • Irish Company Shares The Results Of Trialling A Four-Day Work Week
    The '4-Day Week Ireland' group has joined an international campaign for a four-day working week.
    Ah the elusive four-day week. We've all had romantic notions of this blissful system at some point in our lives, right? But is it really all it's made out to be?
    With Ireland hoping to follow in the British Labour Party's footsteps and campaign for a shorter working week inside the next decade, Dermot and Dave wanted to hear from an Irish business that is trialling the elusive policy.
    Since July 1st, the ICE Group, a recruitment and training company in Galway, have adopted this new approach and are testing it until the start of the new year;
    We are on a 6 month trial at the moment to tease out the different knots and the challenges so that we can make a final decision at the end of December
    Ice Group Director Margaret Cox guides us through the process of creating a "three-day weekend", as she puts it, and states that the key to its success is the business remaining open 5 days a week;
    We don't all work the same 4 days
    Cox also chats about the formation of a "pessimist committee" and "etiquette charter" and teaches us what they have learned over the past three months.

  • Niall Horan's Company Signs Ireland's #1 Disability Golfer
    Dundalk's Brendan Lawlor turns professional for all the right reasons
    Lawlor is one of the top 3 disability golfers in the world and now, after lots of deliberation, he has decided to give the pro ranks a shot in hope of raising awareness.
    The 22-year-old was born with Ellis-Van Creveld syndrome, a rare genetic condition characterized by short limbs and congenital heart defects, yet he's on par with the best in the game.
    He has won some big tournaments over the past few years but feels that now is the time to be a professional Ambassador for disability golf - signing to Niall Horan's Modest! Golf management company.
    Dermot and Dave caught up with the sharp shooter to hear more about his exciting news and why it's only the tip off the iceberg.
    For Brendan, it's not about the money. His main focus on tour is "inclusion", and of course, he absolute love of the game.
    When the lads spoke back in July, he wasn't too sure about leaving the amateurs, but we're so happy he has taken the plunge.
    Happy swinging. We hope you make a wedge!

  • Liam Gallagher Hints At Doing A Song For Peaky Blinders
    As You Were Tommy Shelby
    It'll come as no surprise to you that Liam Gallagher is a massive fan of BBC crime drama Peaky Blinders.
    I mean it's centred around a fearless band of brothers headed by a bad boy trailblazer who has had an astronomical rise in British society. Familiar, innit?
    Well now the two powerhouses might be about to cross paths.
    Speaking on Today FM's Dermot and Dave, Liam tell us what this tweet was all about:
    Here we go again always having to put the scum rite i have never begged for a part in peaky blinders and never will I am liam Gallagher ps you have a massive forehead
    — Liam Gallagher (@liamgallagher) September 15, 2019
    "I met the geezer who writes it", he explains but then laughs off the rumours by saying,
    I'm not an actor man. I could go in there and have a line and drink some booze and shoot some f***er in the face
    However, he could yet have a part to play as he reveals, "I maybe might do a song for the show and that".
    With season 6 in the pipeline, we'll be keeping an ear out for his handiwork.
    That wasn't the only bombshell the 47-year-old had for us, as he then confirmed his estranged brother Noel is indeed on his wedding guestlist for next year,
    I will invite him ya. He'll go to the opening of an envelope so I better
    "If he comes he comes, it'd be great to see him", he says in a warm tone.
    Could this be the end of their decade-long rivalry? Will they toast over a glass of champagne (Supernova)?

    The 'Once' singer also gives us his brutally honest opinion on Brexit, tells us why he loves "young Liam" and county Mayo so much and raves about his recent birthday celebrations, where he went on a 3-day bender in Manchester.
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME I LOOK LIKE A COOL CUNT EVEN WHEN IM OUT MY TREE X
    — Liam Gallagher (@liamgallagher) September 21, 2019
    Liam plays Dublin's 3Arena on November 23rd & 24th (24th SOLD OUT) so do yourself a favour and get some tickets for the Saturday night.
    He's looking great, sounding great and is in top form, so gig-goers are in for a treat.
    His new album Why Me? Why Not. is also out NOW.
