Wesley Chapel Florida's Jeremy Gerstner saw his season end and perhaps his life flash behind his eye last February at New Smyrna Speedway while preparing for the annual World Series of Asphalt. A stuck throttle ended his season and put the veteran racer in a wheelchair. In an exclusive to the podcast, Gerstner takes us back to when the crash happened, fearing he would not be able to walk again, how NASCAR took care of him during his recovery and the long road back to the racecar. He also shares how he feels about coming back to the same place that nearly ended his career.

We review the Cook Out Clash and Modified Classic at Bowman Gray Stadium. We review the impact this has on Winston Salem, the enjoyment level of the event and whether or not it should be moved around or kept at the Stadium for a bit.

Joey Braun was recently tabbed to drive for Hillbilly Racing on the SMART Modified Tour for 2025. We welcome the 22 year old Long Island New York native to the show to discuss his racing background and his expectation for the upcoming 2025 season. 

We also dive into the upcoming Cook-Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium as well as the Madhouse Modified Classic for the Modified Division. Who has the edge in both races and who will surprise in each event. Episode 120 is on the scene and it's a bonus episode of DLN. We are joined by Boo Carlisle and Erin Goodman as they detail a bittersweet weekend at this year's New Year's Bash at Dillon Motor Speedway in South Carolina. 

The two take you behind the scenes of their journey to Dillon earlier this year. The duo faced many obstacles just getting to Dillon this year and there was a moment where the trip was in jeopardy all together. Being sick before a long trip south is one thing but facing this trip without a pit crew at the very last moment would make anyone reconsider their options. The promise of achieving a goal of making one of the biggest street stock events of the season weighed large and the duo made a last second plea to the racing community for help over social media. The duo details how the help arrived which included a late night meeting up with said help and that was before qualifying.

During our conversation, find out which CARS Tour Champion guided Carlisle to a win in the last chance qualifier and the strategy used in the race itself. Elation quickly turned to panic and anxiety as Carlisle had the hardest hit of his career on the front straightway. Hear how Boo was rushed to the hospital and how their last minute group of warriors came together to make sure everything else was taken care of including removing the car from the property and their dog Checker's making it safely to Virginia.

It's a unique conversation that gives you insight how tight knit the racing community is and that racers and their loved ones will go through the ringer just to have a shot at glory and a win on any given weekend.

By doing this, he joined Michael Hinde, John Hunter Nemechek and Chase Elliott by winning Speedfest at Cordele Motor Speedway in their debut Pro Late Model events at the speedway.  The Sezter Racing Development Driver joins to discuss the weekend, his diverse background in go karts, Trans AM 2, Stadium Truck and Rally Cross racking while being discovered by Lorin Ranier and Chevrolet at the age of 16 years old.

Brown has 101 victories and 12 track championships in his illustrious career at the stadium and after over 30 years in the sport, will finally get his shot driving in the NASCAR Cup Series when he drives the number 15 Ford Mustang for Rick Ware Racing. Brown takes us behind the scenes on how this deal came together and how the changes at the speedway will affect his patent driving style. Parker Eatmon was at the head of the table Sunday evening and he joins the show to discuss the biggest win of his career thus far. Can anyone stop Ty Majeski? He has been the man to beat in recent Super Late Model competition after scoring a win in the Bigley Memorial 128 at Freedom Factory over the weekend. Majeski is the defending champion of the Snowball Derby from 5 Flags Speedway and will be the odds on favorite to repeat in this weekend's Derby. We break down the contenders for not only that but the Snowflake that accompanies the Derby.

Dominion Raceway announced that the Virginia Racers division will be known as the America Racers for 2025 and beyond. This will now be the head division at the track and we discuss how this move may affect local grass roots racing moving forward.

Episode 114 is on the scene and we break down the South Carolina 400 from Florence Motor Speedway with Joshua and Billy Weatherman of Short Track Report. We discussed everything from the cold weather, traffic jams, almost not being let into the facility, lack of internet which led to major streaming issues, Dale Jr returning to the Budweiser car  and how we felt about fans leaving early once Dale fell out of the race.

We further dissect the event by talking about Treyton Lapcevich's win in the race and where this puts him amongst the best in short track racing, Doug Barnes Jr barely missing out on another South Carolina 400 win, Carson Loftin's debut in a late model from modifieds, Jacob Heafner's season defining top five finish, the impressive Darren Krantz Jr and of course the Diaz vs Jones fight.

We also talk about the upcoming Thanksgiving Classic from Southern National Motorsports Park as we provide some insight on who we think may win based on those that we know will be a part of the event.

Episode 113 is on the scene and we welcome Mazda MX-5 Cup Star Jared Thomas to the show. Jared recently made history by becoming the first driver to win a Mazda MX-5 event on an oval at Martinsville Speedway a few weeks ago. He tells his story and delivers an education on how he got into this series and his thoughts on ovals in general.

We review the Battle of the Stars from New River All American Speedway. Conner Jones picked up another late model stock win and we discuss how he is coming into his own as a competitor for Mike Darne Racing plus we give our thoughts about the event itself.

Nine of our beloved short tracks in North Carolina have recently come together to form the North Carolina Short Track Coalition. We don't have a lot of details yet on what this means for the asphalt tracks in North Carolina (Bowman Gray, Southern National, Wake County, Tri-County, Caraway, Ace, Carteret, New River All American & Orange County) but Julian spoke with Ace Speedway Promoter Jason Turner and he shares some of that phone conversation that tells us a little bit more about this exciting endeavor.

The South Carolina 400 is this weekend and the boys break down the big Late Model Stock race in Florence. Over 50 cars will go for a prestigious win, $10,000 and a palm tree which includes some of the toughest competitors in the region not to mention some guy named Dale Jr is running. We give you our drivers to watch and we pick our four favorites and a piece that will have the biggest impact on the race.
