Andrew kicks off this episode with the market report for the week commencing 16th January 2023.
In this week’s farm chat, it’s a full house! Andrew is joined by Ben, Ian, Josh & Joe for a rundown of the newly released USDA Report.
Webby is the beer taster for this episode, due to the others going on a health kick (boring!) so he tries a Wildcraft Wild Card Blackberry Stout beer which was kindly gifted by Ian Dean at Aylsham Grain.
The Norfolk Dinner is fiiiinally here, and we can’t wait to see all those in the trading industry and to have a great evening together! Beware of Andrew wetting himself and Spanner’s speech…
If you still haven’t bought tickets, email [email protected] asap to get yours!

We’re sure you’re wondering what the heck our title is about this week… Well, it’s a good’un and we’re not quite sure you’ll believe it but, we’re hosting a monthly Dewing Grain walk and everyone’s welcome to join!
Starting on Friday 13th January (hope you’re not superstitious!) at 1 pm, we’re meeting at the Aylsham Grain car park – we hope to see you there!

Well, it’s the final episode of 2022, and what a year of the podcast it’s been!
From droughts, heatwaves and floods, to war, politics and football, we’ve not been short of things to discuss (or rant about, in Andrew’s case!). We’ve recorded episodes across the UK and Europe (taking the podcast on tour), with our fabulous guest list including the top rugby stars Tom Youngs and Jack Van Poortvliet, and, of course, today’s top secret, special guest, to name a few.
This year, we shared a fair few beers and silly stories, delved into some deep topics and hit our milestone 200th episode, which we couldn’t have done without you. Thank you so much for tuning into the podcast every week, it wouldn’t be what is it without our listeners across the world, so this one’s for you!
From everyone at Dewing Grain, have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year! We’ll see you in January 2023…

Andrew starts this episode with the market report for this week commencing 19th December 2022.
In the penultimate farm chart of the year, we’re doing things a little differently. To get into the festive spirit the boys are starting the farm chat with a beer tasting which was kindly gifted to them by Aylsham Grain’s chairman, Bob Clabon – thanks, Bob for the Bad Elf Beer!
Once the beers have been passed around, other topics of conversation include grain deliveries being rejected this week, rail strikes, broken grains, and a debrief on the World Cup game between England & France. Andrew has a big rant and reveals that Santa might be featured in the last episode of 2022 so make sure to listen next week!

Andrew opens episode 214 with a bitesize market report this week commencing 12th December 2022 (how are we nearly halfway through the month already?!).
In the farm chat, Andrew, Josh, Ben, Ian & Joe fill us in on all the London Bourse antics from last week. These include Webby’s McDonald’s disaster and an appearance from the original milk tray man – you know who you are!
The crew also mention their £5 Charity shop present annual gift-giving tradition and Dewing Grain’s first Christmas tree which has a lovely angel of Andrew, made from a carton – yes, we have questions too! Head to our Instagram, Facebook or Twitter to see the questionable tree…

This week Andrew hosts the market report for the week commencing 5th December 2022, where he updates us on all things grain trading.
The farm chat is hosted by Andrew and features Josh, Joe & Ian, there’s no Ben this week, unfortunately – but don’t worry Ben's fans, he will be back soon! The guys talk about the Bourse in London they are attending this week and are coming up with some topics to speak about with others from the industry, *beware* don’t trust what Dewing Grain might say to you!
The four also talk about Andrew’s recent trip to Amsterdam where his wife Tessa, or should we say, Karen, gets into a mussel debate with a waitress (Andrew & Josh watch out!), they also discuss Matt Hancock in I’m A Celebrity & they have a taste of Ben’s favourite beer, an Adnams Earl Grey Lager which he left in the office – sorry in advance Ben!

This week’s podcast is a little different to usual as Andrew is flying solo, so it’s a bitesize Market Report and Farm Chat combo episode. As always, Andrew shares his predictions, thoughts and musings on the market for the week commencing 28th November 2022, which is accompanied by a quick chat about the World Cup and politics (it would be rude not to mention them!).

This week’s podcast kicks off with Andrew’s market report for the week commencing 21st November 2022.
In Farm Chat, Andrew’s joined Joe, Ian & Ben, or ‘the four wise monkeys’ as they’d now like to be known! Tune in for the usual political chit chat including Liz Truss’ deals with New Zealand & Australia, a very long chat about the grain electronic passports, the £30 drop in the grain market and the World Cup. That’s nearly all of Andrew’s favourite topics to talk about! Ian also updates us about his new caravan, which sadly is without a chimney (don’t worry kids, Santa will find to deliver!).
Finally, the guy’s tuck into a Barsham Brewery B.O.B (Bitter Old Bustard) and share their thoughts on it. Perhaps maybe a beer sponsor or two before Christmas would be a nice treat…hint, hint!
If you’d like your beer to be featured on the Dewing Grain podcast, please email Lily at [email protected]!

As always, the podcast kicks off with the market report, this time hosted by Andrew for the week commencing 14th November 2022.
In this episode, Andrew is joined by barley grower come beer brewer, Alan Ridealgh. Alan shares the story of his career, starting at the very beginning when he worked at Muntons, all the way to where he is now as the co-owner of Humber Doucy Brewing! Alan also tells us about the old gits’ drinking group, Andrew does an American accent and Alan explains where the name of his brewery came from!

This week Andrew and Ben host the Market Report for the week commencing 7th November 2022.
In the farmchat this week, Andrew’s joined by Ben and Josh (although sadly no Webby, as he is moving into his new caravan!). The guys chat about the grain corridor and the constant debate from Vladimir and whether he is opening or closing it. They also discuss bird flu and its effect on trading and the Bank of England’s ridiculous interest rates.
The guys also fill us in on their separate trips to London, for very different events. Andrew & Josh were at the MAGB (Maltster’s Association) Luncheon at Armourers Hall and at the other end of the spectrum, Ben was at a Defra strategy meeting about where the organic market is headed.
