  • EP118: Australia's Heartbreak: The Murder Of Anita Cobby Part 1

It was the 2nd February 1986 in the Australian suburb of Blacktown, New South Wales, when 26 year old nurse Anita Cobby said goodbye to her friends & began to make her way home from the station.

But tragically Anita would never make it home.

Because along her route she was abducted by 5 evil, sadistic men who took it in turns to brutally beat, sexually assault & torture her before she was murdered.

The brutality that she had endured at the hands of these men reduced even the most hardened officers to tears.

In a crime that shocked the whole of Australia & left people asking for the death penalty to be reinstated , Anita's case has left an imprint on the nation even to this day. Not only because of the devastation her loved ones & everyone felt.

But also because of the positive changes her parents Gary & Grace Lynch fought to improve in the justice system for homicide victims & their families.

They made sure their beloved daughter's death- as horrific as it had been, was not completely in vain & helped to channel their grief into positive changes for the families of homicide victims.

As it reaches 38 years since Anitas death, we take a look into the harrowing & brutal events of that night & the incredibly swift police investigation that helped bring her killers to justice.

It really highlights how a completely innocent young woman who is just trying to get home in a normal suburb can unknowingly cross paths with a dangerous gang of men.

Unspeakably evil men who were out just to hunt for a victim.

Anita's death will forever be etched into the hearts of a nation, & she will never be forgotten. She is still to this day, remembered for the kind compassionate woman that she was whose life & death has had an impact on so many.

Her story truly is a crime that broke the heart of a nation, but through that darkness came some light. Because Anita's case has helped bring awareness to the safety of women nationwide ....

  • EP115: The Murder Of Dylan Redwine Part 1

One of the most despicable & deplorable acts that a man can commit is to purposely cause the death of a member of his own family. But what about when it is the brutal death of their own child…?

The very thought of this is of course beyond most of our comprehension.

It brings to light the scary possibility that someone who instinctively is supposed to be our biggest protector could actually turn out to be our biggest threat .

And for one young boy in Colorado,13 year old Dylan Redwine, who was due to spend Thanksgiving with his dad in November 2012- that is exactly the awful reality he was confronted with.

Sadly by the time Dylan would have realised how much danger he was really in ,it was too late ….

As his father Mark Redwine spends the rest of his years behind bars we look into what could have caused these sickening crimes.

Could it have been what authorities believe happened that fateful night ?

That Redwine was so overcome with fury at the thought of his deep, dark, secrets being exposed that it sent him over the edge, leading him to savagely kill his own son ?

Judging by the shocking images Dylan had accidentally discovered on his dad’s laptop, it seems that was likely his motive.

How as a father figure could anything ever be bad enough that it allows you to over ride your in built maternal instinct, thus allowing you to murder your own flesh & blood ?

In this episode we take a deep dive into a case that is so heartbreaking. The utterly needless murder of a much loved , happy, popular 13 year old boy who had the world at his feet & a family that loved him & miss him so much to this day …

  • EP113: Gary Hilton: The National Forest Serial Killer part 1

Sometimes there is nothing better than going for a nice walk to help you relax & enjoy nature whilst escaping the hectic buzz of a city …

This is one of the many reasons why lots of people enjoy hiking in America’s beautiful nature attractions like for example their National Parks.

The beauty & sanctity of which was nearly destroyed back in 2007 when a dangerous predator was discovered to be lurking within these parks .

Serial killer Gary Micheal Hilton began living off the grid & seeking isolated areas like national forests & parks across different states.

He would park up & prowl through the trees, hunting & watching through his binoculars for unsuspecting victims with his dog Dandy at his side to make himself appear more approachable . After launching his brutal sadistic attacks & keeping some victims alive & captive for days he would kill them before dismembering & disposing of their body parts in different areas ,

Although officially charged with 4 murders Hilton is suspected to have killed more victims, as the FBi do not believe he suddenly began killing at the age of 60 .

However if that is the case this would make him the worlds oldest serial killer …

Now with Hilton locked behind bars never to set foot in one of his beloved parks again , it leaves us asking worrying questions…

How safe are we alone or even with a companion on nature trails or in national parks, even if it is broad daylight ?

At what point is it ok to tell a stranger to please leave , & to stop being polite?

Does Hilton have any more victims out there, that he has hidden somewhere in the wilderness waiting to be finally found, identified & brought home to their loved ones ?

And if so, how many …..?

  • EP110: Generational Evil: The Murders Of Ashley Pond & Miranda Gaddis Part 1

There have been many times when we have come across a story of a brutal killer, or a case where a persons acts seem so evil that we have questioned were they born this way? Or was it perhaps something that stemmed back to their childhood that had moulded them into a monster…?

Never has it been such a compelling or fitting question as it will be when we delve deep into today’s case .

Because when young school girl 12 year old Ashley Pond disappeared en route to her bus stop in Oregon City in 2002, the locals eventually realised a dangerous child abductor must be hiding in their midst.

Then two months later when Ashleys school friend 13 year old Miranda Gaddis also vanished from the bus stop the shocking case was huge in the media, and yet the nationwide search for them continued to hit a dead end.

However when it is finally revealed what tragic fate they had met, & who the predator was that was responsible for taking their lives people were not that surprised when they learnt the kind of family lineage he had come from .

Because their brutal killer Ward Weaver III had a father who was not only a cold blooded killer himself, but also strongly suspected to be a serial killer.

And unbelievably the boy Ward Weaver III had raised as his own son would also later became a killer too . Three generations of evil .

So in today’s case we take a look at how the two innocent young girls had their lives cruelly stolen from them by a dangerous sexual predator, & we look closely at the age old question…..

Was it nature that had led their killer to commit those cruel acts, or was it infact nurture?
