This week Caro and Corrie discuss sexism in journalism and the fall-out following Aaron Patrick’s story in the Australian Financial Review last week on News Corp’s Political Editor Samantha Maiden. Caro admits these take-down tactics are bringing back many personal memories for her, and Corrie questions whether we’ll see a shift in support by the Murdoch press away from the government towards the opposition in the lead up to the next federal election. Does a Murdoch endorsement still help to win or lose elections in the current climate?
This week in the Cocktail Cabinet for Prince Wine Store we embrace the flavours of Autumn. Myles brings in a delicious French liqueur for us to try – Le Birlou, and also recommends the Mt Langi Cliff Edge Shiraz for Corrie’s next lunch.

Tomato Tarte Tatin by David Herbert at The Australian.
2 sheets ready-rolled puff pastry
Knob of soft butter
30g butter
1 tablespoon caster sugar
2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar
2 garlic cloves, finely sliced
650g-750g cherry tomatoes
1 tablespoons capers, drained
Small handful of basil
Defrost the pastry and brush one sheet with a little of the soft butter, place the other sheet on top, pressing down. Return to the fridge to chill while you prepare the filling.
Heat the oven to 180 degrees C (fan). Melt butter in a 20-22cm ovenproof frying pan and stir in the sugar and vinegar; simmer for 5 minutes or until thick and like caramel. Take pan off the heat and scatter over garlic and thyme, then arrange tomatoes in one layer in the pan ( be careful the caramel is hot). Roll our pastry on a lightly floured work surface until it’s about 1cm larger than the pan. Place it over the tomatoes, tucking it in around the edge and cutting a few small vents in
