Jason then tries to solve the University of Minnesota’s marketing problem. Luke Hellier (the Mayor of Lakeville) stops by to give Jason a snapshot of what’s going and growing in his community.

Luke Hellier is the Mayor of Lakeville. Every State Fair season Jason invites one of the suburban mayors to talk to him about their neck of the woods. Lakeville is one of the fastest growing cities in the state. Mayor Luke says there’s been an influx of residents since 2020. Jason asks Luke what some of the biggest stress points are in his job currently. Luke speaks about many things but says that this year he’s been dealing with more people who have been misinformed on social media and people taking their anger out on each other.

Steve Simon is the Minnesota Secretary of State and he’s running for re-election. Jason first asks about the state flag and his opponent Tad Jude saying Secretary Steve was instrumental in selecting the new state flag. Secretary Simon pushes back on Tad Jude’s messaging and campaign promises that may or may not be constitutional. Secretary Simon speak to the security of Minnesota’s elections, the high level of voter turnout and being transparent with the interested public. They also chat about the federal government’s pursuit of certain voter information.

He also provides details about what we know at this time about the victims and motive as we await a live press conference from the MPD and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey. Tad Jude joins Jason to talk about his candidacy for Minnesota Secretary of State and the Minnesota flag.

Tad Jude is the GOP candidate for the Minnesota Secretary of State office. He joins Jason to talk about his motivations for running and the Minnesota state flag(s). Tad speaks to election integrity, cleaning the voting rolls and simplifying the process so it's harder for people to cheat. They also chat about Mike Lindell.

They talk about the rodeo cowboys, western wear trends, potential family crest designs, banks taking over the metro, fair attendance and their preferences as a fair patron.
