Your baby is in your arms and the amazing, manic whirlwind that is motherhood has begun. It is unlikely that sex is the top of your priority list straight away, or for a little while until it is and then begins a rush to seek contraception. You are extremely fertile post baby, and most parents try to have a little gap between children, a period of recovery is also often recommended for women as birth is a massive ordeal on your body. But what contraception can you start post birth? When can you start it? What is safe with breastfeeding? and what side effects of contraception can we expect?
