We have all heard the term ‘hands on dad’ or ‘modern father’ and we are thankfully existing in a world where dads are being encouraged more and more to be involved in the whole journey through pregnancy and parenthood. What I see so often as a midwife is a lack of confidence amongst new and expectant and understanding about how they can practically and emotionally be involved and supportive in the family dynamic holding dads back from reaching their fatherhood goals
