  • 5 Unexpected Lessons I Learned Throughout My Fitness Journey
As we come to the years end, I know some of you might be frustrated with where your fitness is at right now. Maybe you thought your fitness journey would be different, maybe you thought you would have seen better results right now or maybe you've developed an unhealthy relationship with fitness. Whatever it is you might be feeling, I wanted to put together an episode outlining a few things that I've learned throughout my fitness journey that might help you look at your fitness from a new perspective. What I discussed:
    1. Progress is NOT as linear as I thought it would be.
Your progress is going to be up and down. This is a normal aspect of the process. If you're going about changing your body in a healthy way, you're not going to see rapid results and you're also not going to see constant results.
    1. Your mind will take you further than your body can alone.
Everyone is capable of showing up for their workouts 3-5 days a week. Everyone is capable of consistently nourishing their bodies. The difference between the people who do and the people who don't is their mindset.
    1. Not everyone is going to support you or understand you and THAT'S OKAY!
In fact, that is MORE than okay, sister. You don't anyone's approval to stay committed to your goals, other's opinions and feedback on your dedication to your goals also don't matter.
    1. Sometimes, showing up is all you can do.
What matters the most is you show up. All you have to do is show up and honor your body with movement…whatever that movement looks like today.
    1. You can't follow your fitness plan perfectly at all times…don't judge yourself for it.
It's all about being consistent with movement, not about perfectly executing your fitness plan. Focus on honoring your body daily, not executing on your fitness plan perfectly. • 4 Important Life Reminders for This Holiday Season
The holiday seasons can be tough for money of us – we might feel a lot of pressure or a lot of loneliness. But isn't the holiday season to be a time where we feel full of love and joy? I believe it is and that's why in this episode of Embrace Your Real, I have a few reminders I think you need to hear. What I discussed:
    1. Don't feel pressure from social media to do things that you don't actually want to do. The holidays is about creating real memories, not just taking photos for more likes on Instagram.
    2. Don't feel the pressure from social media to spend more money than you need to. You don't need to have a pinterest-worthy holiday. You can have a super special holiday without going way over your budget.
    3. If you feel lonely, immerse yourself into a community.
    4. Reach out to those who need you. Spread the love and joy of the holiday season.

  • 6 "Healthy" Holiday Nutrition Habits that Are Actually Obsessive + What to Do Instead
The holiday season is here and I know for many of you this can cause a lot of anxiety around your relationship food, fitness, and your body. Many women want to take a healthy approach to the holiday season, which I completely support. But, for some, the health approach they think they are taking isn't actually all that healthy. The approach is more obsessive and is actually fueling their negative relationship with food, fitness, and their body. That's why I would like to explain which habits aren't healthy and how you can actually navigate the holidays in a healthy, balanced, and enjoyable way. What I discussed: The healthy habits that are actually obsessive are…
    1. Working off the "extra" cookies or pie you ate.
    2. Working out so you deserve to eat the cookies or pie.
    3. Not eating all day because you know you have a holiday party to go to.
    4. Eating less the next day because of what you ate the day before.
    5. Using all your willpower to avoid the holiday foods.
    6. Giving up and going all in until January 1st.
The 6 steps to taking an actual healthy and balanced approach are… Step 1: Get your macros counted. Step 2: Budget your macros. Step 3: Focus on protein Step 4: Keep the same workout plan. Step 5: Be consistent. Step 6: If you get off track, just get back on track. It's as simple as that. • 5 Things You Shouldn't Forget to Be Thankful for This Year…
Thanksgiving is a day to express our gratitude. Most often, the gratitude we focus on is the people around us and the people we are thankful for most. While this is an amazing to celebrate, because the people around us are so important, we forget to be thankful for a few other important things. In this episode, I'm going to reminder you of five more things you need to take the time to be thankful for, not just on thanksgiving, but every single day you are on this earth. What I discussed:
    1. Everything your body does for you.
    2. Your health.
    3. The food you eat daily.
    4. Your strengths.
    5. Everything you have.
If you loved this episode, I highly recommend tuning into Episode 192: The Science of a Gratitude Practice. I dive into WHY gratitude is so powerful and why you should stop overlooking it as a daily habit you practice. I personally think my gratitude practice is just as important as nourishing my body with what it needs and honoring my body with movement. I not only share some hacks to make honoring your body more simple, but I also share some mindset shifts you need to make that will help you keep honoring your body the way it deserves. What I discussed:
    1. A short workout is better than no workout.
    1. Moving your body will keep you more energized through the holidays.
    1. It's okay if you are just "maintaining" and not "gaining".
    1. Commit to moving your body for 30 minutes daily for the rest of the year.
    1. Make not doing it not an option, just do it
    1. Don't judge your movement.
    1. Do what you can with what you have.
    1. Just because you "ate bad" doesn't mean you might as well skip your workout, too.
    1. On the flip side, don't punish yourself with movement because of what you ate.

  • A Friendly End-of-Year Reminder I Think You Need to Hear

It is half way through November already! How did that happen already? It felt like fall just started and now it's basically winter depending on where you are living now. So wild!

The holiday season is settling in, with Halloween passed and thanksgiving around the corner, if you haven't caught the holiday spirit yet, it's about time you do!

With that being said, I know when the holidays hit, there can be a shift in our motivation to stay on track and continue working towards our goals. That's why in this episode of the Embrace Your Real podcast, I just wanted to share a friendly reminder for those who have goals they are working towards.

Okay, so what is this reminder I have to share with you?

The year feels like it's almost over, right? It's basically half way through November and that's it's December and then it's 2023.

I know when the holidays hit, and we get slightly off track, it's easy to just toss in the towel and say you'll start fresh in 2023. Does this sound familiar?

You think that you're already off track and there's not that much time left in the year, so why not just get off track and worry about getting back on track January 1st?

  • 5 Unconventional Ways to Surround Yourself with More Like-Minded Humans
We've all heard it before: You are the sum of the 5 people you associate with most. The people you spend the most time with shape who you are. They determine what conversations dominate your attention. They affect which attitudes and behaviors you are regularly exposed to. Their habits dictate your habits. Eventually you start to think like they think and behave like they behave. If they are constantly skip workouts, you will, too. If they are constantly eat foods that fail to nourish their body, you will, too. If they are constantly saying poor things about their body, you will, too. If they think they aren't good enough, you will start to think that, too. On the flip side, if you surround yourself with people who are dedicated, hard working, confident, positive, and motivating, you will become these things, too. So, take a look at who you are spending your time AND whose content you are consuming the most whether it's Instagram, TikTok, Youtube, podcasts, etc. Who are the people that you are spending the most time with in person and online? Are they helping you get closer to where you want to be, are the pushing you further away, or are they simply not contributing anything at all? While I'm not suggesting you just ditch the people who are helping you, but I do want to bring up the idea of the importance of spending time with people who influence you positively. But I understand that is easier said than done and that's why I want share some simple and unconventional ways to add more positive influential people into your life. What I discussed:
    1. Rethink Instagram by curating your feed.
    2. Listen to podcasts daily.
    3. Read a book for 10-20 minutes daily.
    4. Find in-person meet-up groups.
    5. Join online groups.
