Happy New Year! If you are anything like me, you are excited for this fresh start and the hope that a new year brings. You may also have some big goals set and you are spending time revamping your routines to fit in these new habits.

You might also be feeling a little bit of pressure … this past year or two has been a lot, hasn't it? And if you are feeling overwhelmed or worn out (like I am) then instead of feeling excitement over your goals, you might be feeling a little bit of dread too.

I love the fresh, clean start of a new year. I want to hit the ground running and leave the old year behind. In order to do that, there are some things I need to do in my business toward the end of December.

I organize folders on my computer for everything in my business.

I de-clutter my desk and office.

I order any office supplies I know I'll need like paper, ink, gift cards, note cards, return address labels, etc.

I buy a calendar for the upcoming year.

And, I map out my social media plan.

I hope these tips help you feel ready for the new year!

Every year I create a vision board. Honestly, it's been so rewarding to see my life more toward the goals I set, and it's a fantastic way to get inspired. I keep it really simple. I set up a private board on Pinterest. I use an app called Project Life and I browse and pin all of the images that really resonate with me. I always include a photo of my family and my word for the year.

Today I'm walking you through developing your marketing plan and I'm keeping it simple. It comes down to this: we're going to plan when you are going to stay in touch and how you are going to stay in touch.

Let's look at the whole year in advance and ask these 3 questions:

1. Who is the audience you want to keep in touch with? Think of your database, maybe it's your geographic farm, maybe it's other agents.
2. How often?
3. What are the methods? And, it has to be a mix. Whenever I talk to new clients I ask, "How did you hear about me?" And, I love it when they say, "We see your name everywhere."

You can still evaluate every quarter, but you'll be so much more prepared for the year if you make a plan.
