As managing director of global public relations for Virtuoso, Misty Belles understands the value of a travel advisor perhaps better than most. A master of storytelling and marketing, she works tirelessly to share this insight, in addition to championing the invitation-only consortium’s own luxury member agencies and supplier partners.
In this episode of Humans of Travel, however, Belles is telling a different story: her own. She talks about what it was like growing up in a small Texan town — on a working cattle ranch, no less — as well as her childhood dreams of traveling to far-off places such as New York City and Paris.
Belles also shares her decision behind switching career paths (she studied journalism in college), and why public relations felt like a better fit. Last, but not least, Belles looks back at how travel has changed over her 20-year tenure working at Virtuoso.
