In the third entry of The Eating Disorder Diaries, Amy interviews her parents Chris and Cindy Goeckel to get their perspectives on what it was like to have a child with an eating disorder. They get into the details on how they found out Amy had bulimia, what they did to get her help, and what they wish they would have known and done differently in retrospect. Spoiler alert: Eating disorders are serious and oftentimes treatment for young teenagers is not adequate, like it was in Amy's case. Chris talks about his own struggles with his self image and how that impacted his daughters, and Amy wraps up the show by reflecting on how important it was for her to be able to confide in her parents about her eating disorder and past trauma to get to the point of recovery that she's in today.
