The crash or stall is going to happen, don’t focus on that, instead focus on what your next move is. Learning to take the turn in the road will be the most beneficial thing you can do for yourself. There is always a way to continue.
Support and community is one of the best tools for your journey from pre-op to post-op and beyond. Having a group of people who understand what you are going through and can root you on when you are feeling stuck and make all the difference in continuing your journey.

Melanie Lindell, LMHC is a professional counselor who has spent the last decade working in the area of trauma and abuse. It is her deepest belief that we were all created for relationships, that we want to be known and loved and have the ability to freely know and love others. Her passion is helping clients work through maladaptive survival strategies/patterns learned and replacing them with adaptive strategies that help them thrive. She is a bariatric patient, having had Roux-N-Y on August 23, 2019. Her recovery process was atypical and led to additional surgeries, several complications and a long season on a feeding tube and learning to eat again.
