They cruise across the sky above us, like everyday angels...  touching down to save lives in situations where if these guys didn't exist, nor would a positive outcome.

They are MICA Flight Paramedics, and if you're like me it's not all to often you think about what a day in their life might be like.

Matt Shepherd, or as I like to refer to him 'the poster child for Ambulance Vic', is Mr Calm-Cool-And-Collected.  

Today we shoot the breeze on his life.  A life dedicated to serving as a nurse and then a paramedic.  To climbing the ranks quickly to find himself up in the air filling a role in his career in paramedicine to a level that most either don't aspire to or don't reach.  Matt mentors and educates aspiring young paramedics AND he's one of the epic cast on our Australian television series 'Paramedics'.   All this, whilst raising a family of his own.

I do love a sneak-peek into the lives of our heroic first responders.  And I'm tickled pink when they allow me to sit down with them for an hour or so to pry open their lives and share it with you guys.
