Today I'm joined by my special guest Dr Avi Charlton. Graduating from Melbourne University in 2000, Dr Charlton has over 20 years experience as a doctor and is the founder of The Melbourne Low Carb Clinic, a GP specialist clinic promoting healthy nutrition and lifestyle, through video and face to face consultations.
Dr Charlton has extensive education in the low carb space, having studied with Low Carb Down Under, Nutrition Network, Diet Doctor and she has done additional training with The Australasian College of Nutrition and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM). Dr Charlton is also an accredited Metabolic Health Practitioner with The Society of Metabolic Health Practitioners (SMHP).
On top of this, Dr Charlton is a dedicated mother to her 2 children, and has recently completed 2 marathons whilst personally following a low carb lifestyle.
Dr Charlton and I discuss:
*Note, when discussing PCOS Dr Charlton says it is oestrogen excess, and I state it's usually testosterone excess. Both can be true, PCOS can have oestrogen dominance and high levels of testosterone.*
