He has witnessed the big running boom first hand and the gear enhancements over the last few decades. Fred shared some amazing stories about some interesting weather situations like running to the top of Mount Washington, but there was no safe way to get runners back to the bottom, once they reached the finish at the top. He also encountered some rough seas that gave him a challenge to get to the starting line of another race and how about trying to get beat up mid-race, but his sweat saved him.
