Ivan Cales was a resident of New Mexico, but not in a conventional city or town. He had pitched a tent on his friend Johnny's land. Johnny had a that he once shared with Vern and Roxanne Houston, that is until Roxanne went missing in 2014.  

Roxanne practiced Wicca and believed if she ever were to be killed it would be because of her beliefs.
