Welcome fellow Recovering Traditionalists to Episode 31 where we are going to get inspiration and information from Christy Crees a 30-plus-year veteran elementary teacher.

In these recent episodes, I’m focusing on having you hear from real teachers out there who have made big changes in how they teach mathematics.  All of these teachers have made a choice to put their students at the heart of the learning instead of the textbook. Today we are learning how Christy Crees uses the textbook as a guide but modifies lessons based upon things she has learned about building her students’ number sense.
