Aaron Bushnell gained attention for his self-immolation protest in 2023, a drastic act of protest against government policies. Born in Ohio, Bushnell was a vocal advocate for social justice, environmental causes, and the "Free Palestine" movement before his tragic act drew widespread media coverage. After his death we discovered his religiously strict upbringing in The Community of Jesus. Once we followed that rabbit hole we uncovered a history of cult-like behavior, abuse, and more.
