In this episode, Hallie talks with Dr. Giselle about the impact TOTs has on a baby’s development, temperament and sleep. Dr. Giselle discusses the importance of physical therapy for babies who have TOTs. She discusses how she finds the release of TOTs ‘unlocks’ the door but does not open it! She says babies need help to figure out the correct muscle memory needed to suck efficiently with the right technique. She believes getting help early and timing the release with a team approach helps yield the best results. Lastly, she discusses a few projects she is currently working on to allow for greater access to this information to help more families!
