In this episode I discuss six key tips that will help you slow the aging process:
- Avoid being in a high glucose/insulin environment all the time. The insulin signaling pathway is one of the main mechanisms of accelerated aging.
- Chronic stress accelerates aging and disease. Too many stress hormones decreases mitochondrial functioning and makes you more prone to disease.
- Sleep deprivation can promote all diseases. If you body's circadian rhythm is misaligned then it will cause cellular stress and will predipose yourself to all type of dysfunction
- Avoid environmental toxins and pollution. Polluted air, water, heavy metal exposure, mercury in food, pesticides and toxic house cleaning/personal care items.
- Avoid inflammation from processed foods and overcooking. Inflammation is correlated to most disease as it directly decreases the body's immune system.
- Fasting can help raise HGH levels in the body. This HGH likely helps in the maintenance of lean mass – both muscle and bone.
It's never too late to help slow down aging and these ways will help you do just that!
