In this episode, Hallie welcomes back Jill Rabin, SLP and IBCLC. They discuss breast and bottle feeding with a focus on neurotypical babies who breastfeed well, yet refuse the bottle. They go on to discuss how this may not be disordered feeding but rather a preference for breast and how to combat this difficult transition, especially when bottle feeding is necessary.
Jill recommends bottles as well as strategies that mamas and caregivers can use to make the transition from breast to bottle easier. It is important that parents understand early on, that neurotypical babies who are breastfeeding well, may in fact refuse a bottle, and this is considered normal.
