FIRST LOCALLY-DEVELOPED COVID-19 TARGETED DRUG APPROVED IN CHINA

China's first self-developed COVID-19 treatment has received approval for emergency and conditional use, from the National Medical Products Administration. Zhang Shixuan finds out more.

中国首个抗新冠病毒特效药获得中国药品监督管理局（NMPA）的应急批准上市。请听张诗璇带来的报道。

China's first self-developed COVID-19 treatment has received approval from the National Medical Products Administration, according to a statement by the regulator.  The COVID-19 Monoclonal Neutralizing Antibody Combination Therapy【单克隆中和抗体联合治疗】, developed by TSB THERAPEUTICS, is now allowed for use on adults with mild【温和的，轻微的】 and normal symptoms【症状】, as well as on pediatric patients under conditional approval. The R&D process for the therapy was less than 20 months, and its phase 3 trial results showed an 80 percent reduction in cases of hospitalization leading to death.  

我国首家自主知识产权新冠特效药获批。国家药监局官网信息显示，中国首个自主研发新冠治疗药物获得批准。该款新冠病毒中和抗体联合治疗药物由腾盛华创医药技术（北京）有限公司研发，被批准联合用于治疗轻型和普通型成人患者，并附条件批准用于青少年患者。该款疗法的研发流程不到20个月，其三期临床试验结果显示住院和死亡复合终点降低了80%。

Obviously, we designed a combo【组合】 therapy from the beginning, because we predicted that the virus will have a lot of mutations【突变】 coming in the future. So having the combo definitely can help that. And in the past, we have lab testing result showing that our antibodies are active against almost all the dominant variants of concern. So, we believe that the experience of our scientists helped to develop this wonderful medicine.

我们一开始设计的就是组合疗法, 因为我们预计将来病毒会出现很多变种。所以用组合的方式肯定是有帮助的。我们过去的实验室测试数据显示，我们的抗体对几乎所有主流变异株都是起作用的，我们相信在研发这款特效药的过程中，我们的科学家的经验是很有帮助的。
