There is NO SHAME in your therapy game
Finding a therapist that is a good fit for YOU is so important. Find someone you connect with and who understands your unique struggles, stage of life, etc.
There is no room for perfectionism in parenting - pick your battles, Mama! Let your kids pick out their own outfit, even if it doesn't match, if it makes them happy. Your kids don't need to be dressed to the nines to qualify as a good mom.

In this episode Megan shares her progress on her wellness journey. Remember wellness is both mental and physical. Megan is learning how to exercise her discipline muscle when it comes to her workout routine because even though she loves a good sweat, she's also a huge procrastinator!
Recently Megan and her daughter have been going to the gym together but the societal focus on fat loss, burning calories and getting abs is frustratrating.
If you haven't yet listened to our interview with Emma Murphy, go back and do that now! It's such a great conversation about diet culture and emotional and binge eating.

If we're connected on social media (which I hope we are!) you might have seen that we were recently on a vacation. I wanted to take this opportunity to remind you that it was NOT all sunshine and rainbows. In fact, even though it was a great vacation and I'm glad we did it, it was kind of a shit show.
Tune in to hear why we decided to do load our 3 kids and 2 dogs into our RV and head across the country for 3 weeks and what we learned along the way.

If you're like me, you struggle waiting for the "perfect" moment to do things. You ask yourself questions like "am I ready yet?", "will it be better to wait until the kids are older?", "do I have enough experience?" etc.
What I've learned is, there is no such thing as the perfect time to do anything. So if you want to do something, just jump in and get started!

Welcome back to the Self Care Saturday bonus series where I challenge you to a self care task. Some weeks will be more relaxing and pinterest worthy. Some weeks will require more discipline to do the unsexy work to take care of yourself.
This week's challenge is to call up a girlfriend (or two) and schedule a night, or even a weekend together. When was the last time you got together with your girlfriends? Call them up and schedule something...no really, like right now! We all have 1000 things going on and if we don't commit to scheduling this time, it will never happen. It's time you have one of those good for the soul, laugh till you cry, night with the girls. You deserve this time, mama!

This week we're chatting with Emma Murphy about all things diet culture, emotional eating, binge eating and knowing when to seek help. We also dive a little bit into the impact of social media on us, our parents and our children. Social media can be a great place to find connection but it can also be full of mis-information. Emma shares the credentials you want to look for and what to stay away from when taking nutrition advice from people on the internet.

This week's challenge is to take some time and plan out the meals for your week. If you're like me, the question "What's for dinner mom?" makes your skin crawl! Eliminate some of that stress this week by planning ahead. Make a list, order your groceries (because lets be honest, who's going to the grocery store!), and if you're feeling extra fiesty, go ahead and prep some food ahead of time.
