Enjoying Fireworks Safely

We should all be extra careful when buying things online.

A man who lives in Taichung bought what he thought were "fireworks" (煙火) from an unknown and unidentified source on the famous platform, TikTok, earlier this year.

Mr. Zhuo paid 500 NT for 20 fireworks.

He took his fireworks outside one night.

As Mr.Zhuo passed by a neighbor's house, he decided to light up (點燃) one of his fireworks and throw it into the neighbor's house.

This is a very dangerous thing to do, and is against the law.

The fireworks exploded very loudly, and there was a lot of smoke.

Startled by the very loud noise, Mr. Zhuo lost his balance and fell.

Police came quickly and questioned Mr. Zhuo.

He said he didn't know it would be so serious.

他說沒有想到事情會這麼嚴重。

Police also say that the firecrackers Mr. Zhuo bought online were highly explosive (易爆炸的), and were very dangerous.

Mr. Zhuo is facing fines, and maybe even time in jail.

This story reminds us to be very careful when buying things from unknown sources online.

Also, fireworks can be very dangerous, and we should all take extra care when we are close to them.

Where do princes live?

Most of us might think of big stone castles.

But one real-life prince now lives in a cottage (鄉村小屋).

Well, that's exactly what Prince William of England did with his entire family.

The prince, his wife Kate, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis made the move in June.

The royal family left their life behind in Kensington Palace.

They moved into Adelaide Cottage.

It's a four-bedroom cottage that's about a 10-minute walk from Windsor Castle, where the Queen sometimes lives.

This way, the family can spend more time with Queen Elizabeth.

And the children will have more outdoor space for play.

The cottage is also a bit more private (隱祕).

When the family lived in Kensington Palace, there were lots of people coming and going every day.

The children also had a special nanny (保母) to take care of them.
