Kelly had a unfortunate and classic first time hospital birth, with all of the interventions. Following her sabatoged first birth experience, she had a hard time breastfeeding, and therefore, an insecure and disconnected start to motherhood. In her postpartum, she realized that she was done listening to everyone else besides herself, and when she saw raw footage of her friend's unassisted birth, her evolution began to unfold.

Kelly shares her experience of coming home to herself after sexual abuse, embodying her power in freebirth, and how birth is more than just birth- it's everything.

Today on the show, we have the wild and wise Eliza, a Hungarian born woman, living in France with her beloved. This is a romantic tale of a new love, a surprise pregnancy, and a young woman hiring a midwife, and then firing a midwife when her true stripes are revealed. It was the news that her midwife didn’t actually support Eliza bringing her dear mother and sister into her birthing space, that she knew it was time to cut the ties, take the dive, and create the epic family freebirth she knew she deserved. Birthing in the heat of August, during a thunderstorm, Eliza tells us the gorgeous tale of how her family rallied around her as she birthed like the complete woman warrior that she was ready to be.

From a very young age, Emily Bruce was drawn to understanding global female oppression and committed herself to learn what she could do about the liberation of women and girls. Emily tells us of the life changing experience of living in a mothering home that provided support to otherwise homeless women. Seeing what a woman-centered supportive household offered, and within that- witnessing the sincere transformation of mothers- soon cemented Emily’s unwavering belief in the need for matriarchy. Now a Radical Birth Keeper and a part of the Free Birth Society team, Emily shares her own story of transformation in birth work.

Today, Jessica brings us the beautiful story of a mother reckoning with her inner authority as she navigates her way through multiple births. From her first baby being born at a hospital, to a “party birth” with her second daughter, Jessica shares how she learned each time to surrender more to the wild unknowing-ness of birth. With her third and fourth daughters, Jessica birthed freely and unhindered- with her most recent birth being attended by her two eldest daughters. On today’s show, Sarah shares a common and familiar story of women who trade in their pregnancy and birth desires in order to make other people comfortable. With her first child, Sarah had a homebirth, but many of the decisions she made were for her partner- and even for her midwife. Sarah shares how it wasn’t until she freebirthed her second baby, that she realized what went wrong with her first birth. In her third and most recent birth, Sarah shares the riveting and heartbreaking story of her baby spending his first hour of life between the fluid spaces of life and death, and his first weeks of life in the NICU. FBAC: Free Birth After Cesarean.

After being deemed high-risk in her first pregnancy- despite feeling great and not presenting with any issues- Najma was taken down the conveyor belt of industrial birth.

After hours of tortuous induced labor, she ended up with a surgical birth.

The reason? “Failure to descend”.

After meeting a woman who shared her powerful, physiological birth story, Najma felt inspired to redeem her birth experience.

She learned all that she could about undisturbed birth, reclaimed her authority, and centered herself as the author of her birth and mothering story.

Mary Lou lived an anarchist lifestyle before getting pregnant, and when it came time for her to birth, choosing to birth outside of the system was a no-brainer.
